    Job Description

    Position: Assistant Technical Director

    Department: Production/Scenic

    Reports to: Technical Director

    Status: Full-Time, seasonal, exempt

    Dates: Late June Late April

    Basic Job Description: The Assistant Technical Director supports the Technical Director in

    budgeting, drafting, and overseeing construction and load-in of scenery for all Rep Productions.

    Along with the TD, Master Carpenter, Scenic Paint Charge, Production Purchaser, and the other

    Production Departments, the ATD is part of a collaborative team of artists dedicated to

    achieving the highest production values possible.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Collaborate with TD, designers and other production departments to fulfill theDirectors vision for each production

    Willingness to learn and expand capabilities in all areas of Technical Production

    Collaborate with the TD, Master Carpenter, and Paint Charge to develop build

    plans and devise construction techniques

    Create shop drawings as requested by the TD and Master Carpenter

    Update scenic plans as needed

    Provide Stage Managers with mini-ground plans

    Work with the TD to monitor load-in of scenery

    Attend Technical Rehearsals and Previews as needed

    Under the Supervision of the TD maintain budget spreadsheets and scenic

    inventories

    Assist the TD with all aspects of planning, build, load-in, tech, maintenance, and

    technical needs for all productions and events

    Coordinate schedules for build and load-in with related production departments

    Assist with the distribution of scenic designs and maintain project information

    Oversee Rep Lab Scenic Load-In and Techs

    Other duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Minimum BFA Degree in Technical Theater or 3 years professional experience,

    MFA preferred

    Demonstrated knowledge and experience in scenery construction techniques

    Ability to generate working drawings in AutoCAD Strong verbal and written communication skills

    Adaptability in all situations

    Ability to work as a team member and always present a positive attitude

    Must be able to multi-task multiple projects, maintain organization, and be detail

    oriented
