Bicycle transportation in Brazil
•Lack of concern for demands of cyclists;•Increase motorized traffic;•Increase of accidents involving bicycles;•Lack of parking spaces for bicycles;•Increase commerce of motorbikes;•Low cost of second hand cars;•Decrease of industrial jobs;•Increasing commuting distances;•The heavy publicity of cars;•The bad image of bicycles;•The motorized drivers disrespect; •The lack of bicycle paths (only about 350 km in 2001)
