What are Beanie Kids?Beanie Kids are collectible products that are cute and cuddly. They are sold only in Australia with over 1200 designs and has sold 15 million units. There are variety of themes and characters for each Beanie Kids. They are sold in various stores only.Where do they live?They live on a island called Beanie Island, where the Beanie Master lives with his other Beanie Kids friends.

Where do the designs come from?The Beanie Kid company has excellent teams based in Sydney and Melbourne that creates lots of loving designs for children to adore.

What is the target for this product?The target for Beanie Kids is children from 5 to 12.


Original Beanie KidsMore Beanie Kids are made every year, so the original Beanie Kids are very hard to find. You would say, they are very, very rare. If you do happen to find an original BK, then you are very lucky.

Their own little personalitiesEach BK has their own name, birthday and zodiac sign. This will show the collector a date, to celebrate their Beanie Kid’s birthday and it will also help the collector find other family or friends for their Beanie Kid.

Are they hand-made or machine made?Each Beanie Kid is hand made. Meaning, they are made by hand using a sewing machine and all the final stitching on the back of the neck is done by hand.

When did Beanie Kids start?Beanie kids was first released in September, 1997 and the first BK that was released was actually a set of five BKs that included Jade, Ruby, Amber, Goldie and Bluey.

What is the cost for each Beanie Kid?For a Beanie Kid, $11.99 or $12.99.For a Great Big Kid, $75.00.For a Cuddly Kid, $30.00 and over.


Redemption ProgramThe ‘Collect and Get’ Program

TimelineEvery year, a redemption program is held. This program is called ‘ The Collect & Get Program’ where you need to collect a specific Beanie Kid or amount, to get a special addition or a rare Beanie Kid.


Beanie Island Passport 2002The Beanie Island Passport was the first Beanie Kids Redemption Program. To finish this program, you need to complete one passport with six stamps to receive your very own Beanie Master Beanie Kid. Master Beanie Kids are very hard to find, so it is very rare to find it.

Australian Passport 2003The Australian Passport is the 2nd Beanie Kids Redemption Program. This program included Beanie Kids for every different state of Australia including New Zealand - SA, WA, NSW, VIC,TAS, QLD and NZ.

Family Album 2004The 3rd Beanie Kids Redemption Program is the Family Album. The Family Album Beanie Kids that are needed in this program were Mum, Dad, Sister, Brother, Doggy and Kitty.

BK Beat 2005In 2005, the Beanie Kids rocked out with the BK Beat. BK Beat is Beanie Island very own band. This program released a special additional Beanie Kid, that is only available to the fans who completed all their passport and sent them in all at once. The band members are Lizzy the Singer, Patrick the Drummer, Samantha the Guitarist, Steph the Saxophonist, Toby the Keyboard player and the limited edition Groupie the Bear.


Safari Park Pass 2006In 2005, we’ve rocked out with the BK Beat Band, this year we’re going to Safari with Mini-Beanies Jane the Giraffe Bear, Trumpet the Elephant Bear, Zena the Zebra Bear, Courage the Lion Bear, Bananas the Monkey Bear and Snappy the Crocodile Bear. These Beanie Kids in this Program is 5cm smaller than the normal Beanie Kids (Safari Bear 15cm, normal Beanie Bear 20cm).Outback Adventure 2007Next is the Outback Adventure. Each of these mini Aussie animals are a replica of some of our most popular Beanie Kids hooded Australian Animals. They are approximately 15cm tall.

Outer Space 2008 Each of these mini monsters are a replica of some of the most popular BK hooded monsters, that is 15cm tall. There was also a very special Redemption Program Exclusive Beanie Kid available, Snoz the Monster Mutation Beanie Kid. The only way to redeem a full set of Mini Monsters and Snoz is to fully complete 6 Outer Space Mission Passbooks and send them into together in one envelope.

Under Water Quest 2009These Beanie kids have NEVER been released as an official Beanie Kid. The only way to get your hands on them is through the 2009 redemption program. The bears that you need to collect is... Fins the Fish Bear, Libby the Lobster Bear, Shelby the Seahorse, Wendell the Walrus, Turbo the Turtle Bear and King Neptune the Bear.


Animal Hospital 2011 The 2011 redemption program has 6 accident prone BK animals to collect and 1 very helpful Vet. The BK’s that were needed in this program was Barkley the Golden Retriever, Ginger the Ginger Cat, Bounce the rabbit, Mixie the Mouse, Lori the Lorikeet, Jinx the Horse and also including the ver helpful Vet who cares for all of these cute BK animals. You can only get your hands on these BK in this redemption program.

The Flower Babies and the Mysterious Fairy 2010 This redemption program has 6 playful and mischievous babies to collect. The 6 babies are Baby Poppy, Baby Forget Me Not, Baby Gerbera, Baby Rose, Baby Bluebell and Baby Frangipani. Not to mention a very mysterious fairy that comes to visit! Each Flower Baby has a special letter from the alphabet hidden in their jumpsuit. Collect all 6 Flower Babies to reveal the secret name if the Fairy!After collecting all 6 Flower Babies, you will receive the mysterious fairy.

Pirates of Beanie Island 2012The 2012 Pirates of Beanie Kids program has 7 pirate bears to collect. These Beanie Kids, Screech the Pirate Monkey, Captain Wood Eye, Shanty the Cabin Girl, Jacky the Cabin Girl, Ripple the Captain Boy, Eliza the pirate Queen and Peg the Parrot, are the pirate bears that are needed to finish this redemption program. Once again, they are not official Beanie Kids so they are only found through this 2012 Collect & Get program.

See-More’s Seeing Eye Dog Association Fundraiser

$1 dollar from every See-More the Labrador BK that was sold, goes to the seeing-Eye Dog Association to help train and raise a real seeing-eye dog.

World Wildlife Fund Fundraiser had raise alot of money for the animals who needs good care, food and love.

Wildlife Warriors Worldwide

In 2006, a very special Australian had died, Steve Irwin (Bindi’s dad). All the BKs on Beanie Island wanted to do something to acknowledge Steve and his team at WildLife Warriors. By selling Salty the Crocodile and taking every $1 from it, Salty the Crocodile had raised $25,000 for Wildlife Warriors.


Firey the Firefighter Victorian Bushfire AppealThe Victorian bushfires have hurt so many lives, leaving homeless people with everything being burnt down. The people around the world respects the fire fighters who rescued alot of people from he fire. So, Skansen raised an auction and all the money were donated to the Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal 2009.

Beanie Kids Helping The Tasmanian DevilTasmanian Devils are close to extinction in the wild. Bk has raised money for the Devil Facial Tumour Disease. Devil Facial Tumour Disease have ran a competition called the Tasmanian Devil Poster Competition during June and July 2009.

Lindy-Loo and BKS SupportingIn every year, Skansen company have released 1 very special BK to help raise and $1 from every sale of every Lindy-Loo the Poodle Bear will go straight to CanTeen. CanTeen gives many support for children who has cancer, by running over 200 camps and different programs each year within australia.

Growl Fundraiser AuctionGrowl the Grizzly Cub Bear was auctioned on eBay and all the earning went to Premier’s Flood Relief Appeal 2011. All earnings will help all the families and communities rebuild their lives.

Design a Bear winners 2011In 2011, Skansen held a Design a Bear Competition where you need to design a BK and send it to Skansen Company, which then they will choose some of the best designs. Because there was so much response about the designs, Skansen has decided to make the winners design. The name of the BK that won was Frangipani, Moonlight and (Not out yet) Jess. Frangipani likes to make sure that at spring all the young flowers bloom and come to life. She loves to teach the young flowers how to sing beautifully!At night time, Moonlight likes to spend her time flying around Beanie Island, making sweet dreams wherever she goes by sprinkling stardust.Jess likes to play in the Beanie Nursery and lys in her nice, warm blanket. She wishes that one day, she will be adopted by a fun Beanie Family.

Seasonal FairiesThis year, there are 4 seasonal Beanie Kids that are being released.Savannah is the Summer fairy. She loves the warm weather and she protects the other Beanies by sprinkling magical sunscreen over them.Teressa is the Autumn fairy and she lives at the bottom of a very large tree, in a autumn leaves house.Who is the Spring fairy? the spring fairy has not yet being released yet. It will be released later in the year.

How Beanie Kids are recognisedBeanie Kid’s logo is a very ordinary logo that says ‘Beanie Kids’ on it. This logo is well known and is very easy to be recognised. The logo on the side is the main logo, but there are many other logos for other types of Beanie Kids.

BK, which is an abbreviation for Beanie Kids, uses the logo on top.This is the main logo for Beanie Kids but there is an abbreviation logo version, which says BK on it.

Another one is GBK, an abbreviation for Great Big kids. Great Big Kids are extra big Beanie Kids. The logo for GBK, says GBK in the centre.

CK, also an abbreviation for Cuddly Kids, is similar to the GBK logo. In the middle, the word ‘CK’ is written in the middle and has a coloured background.

Prediction:Skansen Company could create more than 1300 Beanie Kids.

Proof:More and more fans are requesting Skansen to make more BK’s with more different themes, with that, Skansen would not want the fans to be disappointed, so in that case, Skansen will create more, for the fans and lovers of BK.

Proof:It said that there are 5 Beanie Kids being released every month, so in a few years time, they will make more than 1300 BKs.

Proof:Sold over 15 million units and it was the most popular collectible product in its category within Australia for 15 years. No one can not love Beanie Kids because they are so cute.

Proof:Everyone loves it and spends alot of money on buying them or collecting them. Beanie Kids have so much fans.

Prediction: BK could be sold and could be well known all around the world.

Proof:If you don’t agree with this, then your wrong. With all the reviews, comments, fans, charity work and all those people who buy BKs, it will soon be well known from all around the world.

next level- selling across the world, but I guess they don’t have the time to think about it. Every year, the Skansen Company releases 5 Beanie Kids. The negative thing about Beanie Kids is that Beanie Kids can get a little bit old-fashioned. Skansen is to busy to even create a movie on Beanie Kids. For one Beanie Kid, it would cost $10- $13. For a big one, it’s $40 or over. That’s pretty expensive for just one, but it’s worth it. So get to your nearest news agency and get a Beanie Kid today.

But there is also a chance that Beanie Kids will still be existing, because by recruiting more workers, they can bring out a whole line of new Beanie Kids. Beanie Kids are collectable toys and there are alot of collectors that would like to collect the BK set. When collectors starts to collect things, they just want to complete the whole set, so that they can feel proud and good about it. So by spending money on BKs because they just want to complete the BK collection, Skansen can make alot of money from it. Then a few years later, the BKs that cannot be found anymore, is very valuable and rare. So, by keeping your BK in good condition or the original condition, the BK that cannot be bought or found anymore is very, very valuable because due to it still existing, they make alot of money by selling it. But then again, Skansen might create different collectible toys instead because it wouldn’t be the same without the old workers.

In my opinion, Beanie Kids will soon be forgotten or gone in the future. On the Beanie Kid’s official website, it said that most workers at the Skansen Company had retired, so if all retires, there would be no one else to create the Beanie Kids, unless the Skansen Company recruits more members.


How to overcome an issue Beanie Kids has or will face

Beanie kids are the many popular collectable creatures that can face many threats such as: another company can create an even popular collectable, gets old fashion and kids can get addicted to video games. To overcome these issues, I would sell beanie Kids around the world, make movies about BK and create video games. This way, children can play, watch and hug BKs everyday. BKs can become old fashioned and boring. Most kids like to play video games, but not many like to play dolls or toys. To make BK more popular, they should create themed Beanie Kids that most kids would like nowadays. for example: There are many people who like Kpop like my friend Nhi. If they design singers or bands to their collection of Beanie Kids, lots of kids our age would love to buy it. For little kids, they like cute and cuddly things, so just make the Beanie Kid’s design more cute and adorable.


How are Beanie Kids made?This is a procedure on how the BK

designers create a Beanie Kid.

Beanie Kid Designers draw inspiration from the Beanie Master. They meet together and discuss the latest designs. The designers then cross check with the Beanie Master to ensure that they are no other Beanie Kids with the same design.

Beanie Kid Designers have to choose the correct colours, fabrics to suit the new design and accessories such as glitter, sequence etc. They use a computer to organise the colours that they need for the BK.

Beanie Kid Designers finalise all the small details and then send the design to the factory to be manufactured. The BK is then ready to be photographed and placed in store.



Stuffed�� toys�� are�� cute�� and�� soft,�� but�� there�� can�� be�� many�� hazards�� or�� dangers�� to�� it.�� Kids�� at�� the�� age�� of�� 8�� and�� up,�� would�� not�� have�� much�� problem�� with�� playing�� stuffed�� toys�� but�� little�� kids�� or�� children�� can�� have�� different�� problems�� and�� dangers.�� There�� are�� varieties�� of�� small�� parts�� on�� the�� stuffed�� toys�� such�� as�� the�� eyes�� or�� the�� nose.�� Sharp,�� hard�� or�� materials�� that�� can�� fall�� off�� easily�� can�� create�� chocking�� hazard.�� These�� are�� some�� of�� the�� things�� you�� would�� need�� to�� check�� and�� do�� to�� choose�� a�� safe�� toy.

How to choose safe toys:

*Ensure that there are no small parts that can easily fall off and become trapped in an child’s throat.

*A stuffed toy’s filling should be clean and free of object- If possible, feel/ or squish the toy for any sharp objects.

*Toys made from foam my cause a choking danger if a child bites it.

*Only buy toys that are bean-bag style, only if the seams or materials will not tear- Polystyrene beads are a certain hazardous as children might breathe in them.

*Remember to check the seams carefully to secure the seams. Long and loose pieces of thread on a stuffed toy can cause choking or strangling.
