What happened so far!

• Open Government is BLSG topic (local – regional – province - national govenments)• Open Data on priority list of KIG (Competence Center for Internet Society)• Data Portal of the City of Vienna since May 2011• Data Portal of the City of Linz comes early October 2011

• Cooperation OGD Austria since Juli 2011: Recommendations for Open Data in Austria (National Government, Cities of Vienna , Linz, Salzburg & Graz, plus: OGD / OKF Austria and IOÖ = Austrian Industry )

What comes next?!

• Open Data Portal of national government in planning phase• 1st set of recommendations by Cooperation OGD Austria published• 4. October 2011, Workshop for data holders on CKAN, meta data & LOD publishing• 12. October 2011, Workshop open data for Austrian ministries (13 ministries)

BUT - What is still missing! The official Committment on highest political level!!

2. Involvement & balancing: BLSG: federal gov – state gov – cities - communities!

3. Active collaboration and communication of all (6) stakeholder groups!

4. Harmonisation and standardisation of data, formats, interfaces, meta data (in international context)!

5. Data can also be provided by economy and academia!

6. National and international Benchmark (as a chance)!

7. Guidelines & Best Practises should be developed and provided!

8. Committment for Open Data from highest political level needed!

9. Concrete terms of use, cost models, licenses, SLAs should be developed
