Baltimore County Police Chief Michele Hyatt will be unable to attend our February meeting and has asked to be rescheduled for our March meeting. Sandy Marenberg, Director of Blue Ocean Realty, LLC, graciously accommodated us by agreeing to change his March presentation to this month’s meeting. Sandy will provide an update and respond to questions re-garding the progress of Aviation Station, formerly known as The Depot. Plans are moving ahead to address the historical uniqueness of the site as well as the complexities of the zoning and permit process. He will be explaining the phases of development and the timeline as well as provide some insight into retail and busi-ness possibilities. A lot has changed in a year, come and find out for yourself.

THE DOCK L INE
J A N UA RY ME E T I N G H I G H L I G H T S The meeting was called to order. County Councilwoman Cathy Bevins provided a brief update on Greenleigh and mentioned that Steak and Shake is coming to the restaurant area. Coppermine is coming to The Depot. The fields will be built on Campbell Blvd., as well as an aquatics center. She then went into the CZMP pro-cess which happens every four years. This is the time in which someone may want to raise a zoning issue or make changes. There are 44 issues for District 6. Issues for Bowleys Quarters include: Expansion of Beacon Light Marina toward Clarks Point; Changing the density on Chester Rd. by Long Beach Marina; and the Bay Drive property will not be subdivided for family development. A great deal of conversation ensued regarding the Crane Power Plant Property but too little is known about intent by the owners. It is too early to at-tempt a downzoning of the 400 acre LaFarge property until they have completed their fill in. It will be 18 months-2 yrs before they have completed that. The trucks are supposed to be bringing clean fill. Questions were raised about the drive/road being built into the woods just beyond the 43 bridge over the railroad tracks. People also asked about the water leaks on Eastern Ave. as well as Car-roll Island Rds. The county is still working on two acquisitions for portions of property to be able to complete the Mohrs Lane Bridge and Campbell Blvd ex-tension. Cathy also shared information from the State Highways meeting regard-ing the Eastern Ave. bus turnaround/traffic issue near Whispering Woods. Officer Seckens provided information on recent events: two break-ins, two rob-beries, shots fired from a vehicle; two shooting incidences in the Essex area along with retaliation episodes. Pat Carroll from Johns Hopkins Bayview promoted their Blood Drive.
