Who we are
Organized in 1936, Federated in 1937, A&M Garden Club was the first community gardening group organized at Texas A&M University, to teach new residents how to grow in these challenging soils and climate.
Throughout the years, the Club has worked on many community park and street plantings, a Blue Star Memorial at Veterans Park and Brazos County Arboretum, to name just a few. Current community contributions include Richard Carter Park, working with the students at local schools, having educational booths at various events such as Earth Day, Arbor Day, Fourth of July Celebration, and Wish Upon a Butterfly.
We enjoy Flower Shows, Floral Design, visits to Gardens near and far, friendships and sharing tips for home and garden. The Club has received numerous awards, including Texas Garden Club of the Year (Bronze) in 2010, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016, Silver in 2017. We adhere to and promote conservation and environmental practices, participating in NGC Projects.

What we do
Working under the greater organizations of National Garden Clubs and Texas Garden Clubs, as part of District V, A&M Garden Club promotes the love of gardening, floral design, horticulture, civic responsibility, landscaping, environmental concerns and garden therapy for men, women and children. It encourages participation and support of educational programs for both the beginner and advanced student. Its purpose is to preserve, protect and conserve the natural resources of this country, and to maintain and enhance the beauty of our lands.
