Principal’s Message
“Be the change you wish to see in
the world” Gandhi
It has been a very busy time at the
school. Staff have been enthusiastically preparing
reports and undergoing training in a range of new
initiatives aimed at improving outcomes for our
students. Recently, Vanessa Campbell and Allyson
Currey completed Advanced Training in the
Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program,
which forms an important part of our school’s
Food Technology and Human Society and its
Environment programs. We look forward to
gradually implementing this program across all
our classes. Thanks to Vanessa and Allyson for
leading the school in this important initiative.
The quote above reminds
us, as we go about our
busy lives, that, while we
cannot control the actions
of others, we can change
ourselves and the things
we do as we strive for
improvement, and in
doing so, others may join
with us on that same
journey.

National Sorry Day 26 May 2015
National Reconciliation Week
27 May to 3 June 2015
National Sorry Day acknowledges and raises
awareness of the history and continued effect of
the forced removal of Indigenous Australians.
National Reconciliation week is focusing on how
Australians can better recognise each other and
recognise the contributions, cultures and
histories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
people. We will be flying our Indigenous flag on
National Sorry Day and throughout National
Reconciliation Week to confirm our national
respect for Indigenous Australians.
A Special Thank You
Thank you to Fiona’s Mini Bus Rentals for
supporting our students by providing their
transport each week to Riding for the Disabled.
With out your kind and generous support this
program would not be possible.
Epilepsy Australia
It was great to receive a lovely letter and

Class 1 NewsClass 1 News
This week our Prac
Teacher Julie has been
sharing a sensory story
with us. It was a story
about Spot. We had a
great time feeling,
tasting, smelling and
looking at different
things that happened
in the story. We like
sensory stories.

Wet Weather Sport
When the wet weather
finally came last week, our
class made the most of the
opportunity and had lots of
fun with our ‘Wet Weather
Sport”. We played
Magnetic Darts and
Classroom Hockey, where
we can only use sticks and
ball in the playing area. The
aim is to pass the ball
through the playing area
and out the end to score.

Bullimbal School Commemorative Tea Towel
We still have plenty of Tea Towels which are available from the
office for only $12.
These Tea Towels commemorate our 5th Birthday at our Degance
Street location. The students worked hard contributing hand
prints and self portraits to make up the art work which decorated
the Tea Towels. These make a great gift for someone special or
just buy one for yourself.
