Expressions of Best wishes to the Hack Harvard finalist teams of SKCET on their Onward

Journey to USA by Principal Madam and HODs!

Team SKCET is brimming with confidence as the students of CSE and CSBS are geared up to

demonstrate their coding skills at HackHarvard 2019, a 36-hour Hackathon event of Harvard

University, USA during 18-20 Oct 2019.

Our beloved Principal Madam interacted with the students and shared various technical

know-how’s to bag the winning laurels and reviewed their travel plans and arrangements. Madam

congratulated the students on this enriching experience and conveyed her warm wishes to prove

the eminence of SKCET in sequel to the super success of Four First Prizes at SIH 2019.

The students are all set ready after vigorous phases of tech-nurturing by the Academic

leadership team and faculty mentors of SKCET to help them present the products in front of a

panel of judges, comprising of Harvard Engineering professors, Harvard startup co-founders and

software engineers of Google, Microsoft and Face book.

The following students of Mechanical Engineering presented their research papers in

the ‘International Conference on Advances in Design Materials Manufacturing and

Surface Engineering for Mobility’ (ADMMS'19), organised by SAE INDIA Southern

Section on 11-12 October 2019. The presented ten papers were published in SAE

international journals (SAE Technical Report) which are SCOPUS indexed.

Hall. The purpose of this gathering was to create a common platform where faculty

As a counter measure taken on the CIA's test performance of the students, special

coaching class for the subject "Theory of Computation" was conducted for the III year

CSE B students by Mrs.S.Biruntha, Assistant Professor, Department of CSE.

CSE / ECE - EXTENDED HOUR COACHING CLASS

Dr. S. Sasipriya, Associate Professor, ECE conducted special coaching class for the

III year ECE students on “Digital Communication” and solved the analytical type

questionnaires.

Nivas S, Bhavik Kumar N, Nishit M, Imron Khan S and Siva Shankar R from II

CSE C(TCS) have participated and won the consolation prize along with cash prize of

Rs.5000/- in “Hack for TRAI - Telecom Audience Measurement” conducted by

TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) on 12th and 13th of October 2019 at

Attic Lounge, Bangalore. The problem statement was to ideate the techniques for non-

invasive collection of viewership data. Among the whole lot of participants in the

common forum, our students banged the pride of being the only selected student

participants amidst all IT Professionals.

ECE - HANDS - ON TRAINING ON EMBEDDED SYSTEM

Mr. R. Sarath Kumar and Mr. S. P. Karthi, faculty of ECE organized a Hands- on

training on ‘Embedded system’ for the ECE department faculty. The training was on

ARM processor and its real time applications.





Swetha V of II CSE C (TCS) has evolved as a vibrant event manager. She has recently

showcased her skills as ‘Master of Ceremony’ at the 21st Annual Conference of Skull

Based Surgery Society of India - ‘SKULLBASECON 2019’ on 11th and 12th of October at

Le Meridian, Coimbatore. A huge crew of Doctors participated and gained knowledge in

their strive towards life saving journey, throughout their life.
