• The placements are for large crop farms, some mixed beef and crop farms, so some equipment

experience is a must.

• We need 10 good applicants for this season.

• Trainee’s live with the host family on the farm, or in a trailer on the property.

• Trainees should have at least two years’ experience in farming in order to apply.  Practical

• What you earn: $11.00 per hour for 45 hours a week.  Your host must take deductions off your cheque for taxes, and a small amount ($350) to pay for your food and lodging.  Inbound Trainees

will make approximately $1400 CAD (R14 000.00) per month in nett pay.  You can apply to get the

income tax back that was deducted from your pay cheque when you leave Canada.

• Usually 1 person per farm, unless farms big then 2 – 3.

• Overtime rate at $13.00 per hour.

• Trainee works 5 – 9 hours per day, starting 8am to 6pm with an hour off for lunch.

* DEPARTURE is in April, you have to attend an orientation on arrival first, then go off to your host

family.

• Visa could take approx. 4 weeks.

• Trainees must be 18 – 30 years old – RSA passports.

• Season April – November.

• Orientation Dates are April 15-16 Saskatchewan, April 23-24 Manitoba and April 28-29 Alberta. If you

miss all those, there is a mini-orientation at the Trainee Fun Weekend June 20-22 in Saskatchewan.

• Trainees will fly into whatever airport is closest to the host, most typically, Regina (YQR), Saskatoon

(YYZ), Edmonton (YEG) or Calgary (YYC).

• Orientation - there is one in each of the provinces - Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta. Trainees go to the closest one, but sometimes they will go to whatever the last one is if they haven't arrived in

time for the closest one.
