DESIGN PHILOSOPHY>>

Norco’s 2013 bicycles are the physical expression of our promise to listen, innovate and ride. This promise is not just some contrived marketing slogan we pay lip service to. It is the cornerstone of our commitment to build the finest bicycles for your riding adventures.

At the heart of our promise is innovation – innovation fuelled by active listening and endless hours riding bikes. At every opportunity, we gather intelligence that helps guide our efforts to realize the most rewarding and memorable riding experiences. Our world-class team of athletes, dealers, riders, staff and distributors provide us with invaluable feedback. From there, our development team combines advanced design and manufacturing techniques with select materials to craft our distinctive bicycle designs.

Ultimately, we want you to enjoy the greatest ride possible every time you throw a leg over a Norco bicycle. It is your ride that drives us to strive for perfection with every bike we make. On the road, on the trail, through the mountain pass or in the city, we know your next adventure depends on it.

for yourself. When you get it out on the trail and it does and feels exactly as it is supposed to, when the bike proves us right, that’s the ultimate payoff. Finally the bikes make their way out into the world, to be ridden by people like you, where the process begins all over again: you tell us what you like, and we listen… When you get it out on the trail and it does and feels exactly as it is supposed to, when the bike proves us right, that’s the ultimate payoff. Finally the bikes make their way out into the world, to be ridden by people like you, where the process begins all over again: you tell us what you like, and we listen…

ROAD TECHNOLOGIES>>

ARC-Applied Road Compliance Norco’s performance road frames feature Advanced Road Compliance (ARC) technology, which optimizes the vertical compliance to lateral rigidity ratio for race and endurance applications. ARC seat stays are designed with a distinctive bow shape that works like micro-suspension to dampen fatiguing road vibrations. ARC technology enables us to maximize rider comfort without any sacrifice to the lateral stiffness that gives a high performance road bike its pedaling

efficiency and explosiveness.

ARC Endurance: Seat stays are slender and feature a very pronounced bow shape that makes them extremely effective at dampening road vibrations. Chain stays are broad and stiff to ensure optimal pedaling efficiency, and they are engineered to be slightly longer to deliver a more stable ride experience.

ARC Race: Seat stays are slender and feature a less pronounced bow shape that still delivers effective road vibration dampening. Chain stays are broad and extremely stiff to deliver maximum pedaling efficiency, and they are engineered to be slightly shorter to deliver a highly responsive ride experience.

Power Chassis Design

Norco’s Power Chassis Design is the ultra-efficient power transfer system that anchors all of our performance road bikes and gives them their responsiveness and explosive acceleration. The Power Chassis is a complete pedaling platform designed to convert energy from a rider’s whole body into forward momentum. The design begins at the tapered head tube and leads down through an oversized down tube

that creates an extremely stiff linkage between the front and back end of the bike. The down tube leads into an oversized, super-stiff bottom bracket shell designed to house the most efficient cranks available today. The oversized BB area then leads through to an especially broad set of chain stays, engineered to conduct energy directly from cranks through to the back wheel where they are converted into forward thrust.

Proprietary Carbon Forks

Norco’s carbon fibre forks are specifically designed to integrate seamlessly with our proprietary carbon frames. Every fork is engineered to deliver superior performance for intended use: race, endurance or cyclocross. Our carbon forks are all extremely stiff laterally and compliant vertically. They are designed to deliver exceptional responsiveness and precision handling while working to absorb road vibrations. Our carbon fork technology was developed to help riders go faster and further with less fatigue.

Race: An exceptionally stiff, aero profile straight-bladed fork designed to deliver the most responsive ride experience. This fork feels fast and tight and offers the greatest cornering ability in the line.

Endurance: Similar to the race fork, but with slightly more taper toward the base for increased vertical compliance. A larger rake offset sets the wheel a little further forward for a more stable ride experience.

Cyclocross: A very broad, stiff fork with the greatest amount of mud clearance, designed to be able to hold a line through rutted, punishing CX courses. Slightly less vertical compliance as the focus in this case is on control.

SmoothCore The inside of a carbon frame is structurally as important as the outside. Norco’s SmoothCore process enables us to maintain precision control over all of the inner surfaces of our carbon frames, which is particularly critical at complicated, high-stress areas like the head tube and bottom bracket junctions. At the heart of SmoothCore is our innovative mandrel system, which eliminates the possibility of wrinkling during the carbon fibre layup process and guarantees exceptionally smooth inner

surfaces throughout the frame. Most importantly to the rider, SmoothCore greatly improves frame strength over conventional carbon layup processes. Norco’s 2013 carbon frames are the strongest and most resilient we’ve ever made, inside and out.

Page 7: Catálogo de Norco 2013

ArmorLite

Norco’s carbon frames are manufactured with only the highest quality materials, right down to the resin we use to hold everything together. Our superior quality ArmorLite resin produces an exceptionally strong bond that enhances frame strength, prevents damage and increases impact resistance. ArmorLite resin is so efficient that less of it is required – enabling us to produce carbon frames that are both stronger AND lighter than those manufactured using conventional resins.

Tapered Head Tube

Tapered head tubes provide three major benefits to riders: stiffness, responsiveness and durability. A wider head tube junction leaves room for a larger down tube, enabling engineers to create a stiffer, more efficient pedaling platform. The wider junction also enables us to use forks with stiffer, stronger fork crowns and steer tubes; these forks are less prone to flex, so riders experience enhanced responsiveness

and control in the handling of the bike. Tapered head tubes also enable engineers to optimize headset bearings. Oversized 1 1/2” lower bearings are stronger and more durable, and they are better at dissipating loads and handling impacts. Smaller 1 1/8” upper bearings, which experience less load, are lighter. Combined, all of these tapered head tube benefits contribute to a more thrilling ride experience.

PressFit BB30

A PressFit 30 bottom bracket offers all of the stiffness benefits of a BB30 bottom bracket, and adds a few unique benefits of its own. With PressFit 30 bottom brackets, bearings are housed in nylon cups that are pressed directly into the BB shell. This eliminates the need for the aluminum sleeve used in traditional BB30 designs and therefore reduces overall weight. The PressFit 30 system also creates

a better seal around bearings, increasing their lifespan and reducing the possibility of a blowout. PressFit 30 BBs are less prone to creaking than other BBs and are compatible with all BB30 cranksets.

Dual Route Technology

Dual Route technology is Norco’s internal cable routing system, designed to accommodate both mechanical and electrical shifting cables. This innovative design reduces internal contact points, reducing cable friction, increasing durability and prolonging the lifespan of cables. Less friction means smoother, more reliable shifting over a longer period of time. And the Dual Route system is designed to make it easy for riders to upgrade from mechanical to electrical shifting systems.

Page 8: Catálogo de Norco 2013
Page 9: Catálogo de Norco 2013

We ride road bikes because they help us to see the world, and ourselves, more clearly. With each hour spent in the saddle, with every turn of the pedals, we become more intimate with our strengths and our weaknesses, we come face to face with our tolerance for pain and we test our will to push on through seemingly insurmountable challenges.

Out on the road we learn that there are no limits to our potential. With each passing day we grow stronger, recognizing that “limits” are shifting, flexible boundaries that exist for the most part in our minds. The ride teaches us that these perceived limits can and should be defied. We are in control.

At Norco we design road bikes to inspire your ride. We recognize that people find adventure in different ways: the thrill of competition, the struggle and the pain, the camaraderie, the shared experiences, the pure joy. Despite our differences, however, what we get out of cycling is the same for all of us. Cycling helps us to realize our fullest potential – no matter what that may be. We are because we ride.

Road Race

The Valence is an endurance road bike designed for riders who like to test their mettle over long distances. Laterally stiff and vertically compliant, the bike explodes forward when you press on the pedals and dampens fatiguing road vibrations without sacrificing efficiency. The Valence’s geometry, less aggressive than that of a pure race bike, encourages a more upright riding position – enabling you to ride longer and venture further. Combining a super-strong, ultra-lightweight proprietary frame, precision handling and premium components, the Valence proves that comfort and high performance can coexist in a single road-ready package.

Built for riders who spend long hours in the saddle, the Norco Valence is a performance/endurance road platform designed to inspire and enhance your epic rides. The Valence is the obvious choice for Gran Fondos and charity rides like the Ride to Conquer Cancer, but it’s also a great option for anyone who participates in regular club rides or challenges themselves to complete epic solo rides on the weekend. Settle into the saddle, find your rhythm and let the Valence inspire you to push past your previous limits – all you need to do is supply the fuel.

CYCLO CROSS>>

Much like the racers it was designed for, the Norco Threshold is a bike that thrives in harsh conditions. A dedicated cyclocross race bike, the Threshold excels in the wild and unforgiving environments that make CX races such a spectacle to behold. The tenacious individuals who win these races are those who find a way to outperform their competitors by riding faster over every type of terrain imaginable: grass, dirt, mud, loose sand, gravel and pavement. Pedal it, carry it, push it – whatever it takes to get over the finish line before everyone else. If you’ve got the CX attitude, the Threshold is your ticket to ride.

Intended use:

Great CX riders manage to feel out those opportune moments when hopping off the bike is the best strategy, they find creative new lines that give them a priceless split second advantage and they intuitively sense when it is best to stay on the bike and charge while other riders have opted to hike. These riders need a bike that is as intuitive as they are, and one that matches their riding style: fast and relentless. Caked in mud? No problem. Deep sand just waiting to suck you in? Piece of cake. Obstacles threatening to buck you? Bring ’em on. The Threshold delivers high performance in a stable package, and this bike won’t shy away from anything even the toughest CX course has to offer.

MOUNTAIN TECHNOLOGIES>>

Advanced Ride Technology Advanced Ride Technology, or A.R.T., is the direct link between engineering and experience. More than a single suspension platform, A.R.T. is a system that we optimize for each intended use. Norco’s engineering team strategically manipulates pivot locations to precision-tune suspension kinematics, ensuring that every full suspension bike will excel in the environment it was designed for. For downhill applications, we increase rearward axle path for a more controlled ride

over gnarly, unpredictable terrain. For cross-country we increase pedaling efficiency and small bump compliance for a faster, smoother ride.

A.R.T. delivers four major benefits to riders: enhanced pedaling efficiency, increased square-edge bump compliance, improved braking performance and progressive suspension characteristics. These benefits are balanced in different proportions based on intended use, creating a ride experience unique to each model.

Enhanced Pedaling Efficiency A.R.T. is designed to effectively manage chain growth to create anti-squat forces that counteract the forces responsible for suspension bob. The result is an incredibly efficient pedaling platform, superior power transfer and unmatched climbing ability.

Increased Square-Edge Bump ComplianceRearward axle path describes the rear wheel’s trajectory as a bicycle moves through its travel. A.R.T. uses a pronounced rearward axle path that enables the wheel to travel both rearward and upward, up and out of the way of obstacles.

Improved Braking Performance A pronounced rearward axle path also allows a bike’s suspension to remain fully active when pressure is applied to the brakes. A.R.T. delivers powerful, predictable braking with fully active suspension and superior traction at all times.

Progressive Suspension CharacteristicsA.R.T. suspension uses a progressive leverage ratio curve, meaning that the forces required to engage the shock increase progressively as the shock moves through its travel. The first part of the stroke is very supple and effectively absorbs small to medium-sized impacts. Toward the end of the stroke, the shock becomes progressively stiffer, resulting in a ‘bottomless’ feel. To the rider, this progressive curve is experienced as consistent, predictable suspension at every point in the travel.

Gravity Tune With traditional frame designs, engineers adjust front-centre lengths for each frame size but use a single, fixed rear-centre length. This approach leaves riders of certain body types in a poor position when standing. Poor body position leads to uneven weight distribution and negatively affects traction, control and overall performance and ride characteristics.

A simple solution to a complex problem, Gravity Tune fixes the front-centre/rear-centre ratio across all frame sizes, effectively optimizing geometry for every bike in the line. As a result, weight is always optimally distributed – regardless of rider height. Available only on Norco Bikes, Gravity Tune means equal ride characteristics and unrivalled control for all.

Holloform Link Arm Norco’s Holloform linkarm is a hyper-rigid, one-piece linkarm that provides two distinct benefits to riders. First, it provides lateral support to the seat stays and stiffens the rear triangle, keeping the bike tracking straight and true through any terrain. Second, it prevents torsional forces from affecting the rear shock, reducing stiction and increasing shock life..

Hydroformed TubesNorco’s hydroforming process uses high-pressure hydraulic fluid to form tubing into precise, structurally superior shapes with strategic curves and tapers. The process allows our engineering team to design tubes and complete frames that will behave exactly as intended. Hydroforming also enables engineers to increase strength in key areas and incorporate functional features such as stand over clearance into designs. The result is a visually striking frame that is

functional, light and extraordinarily strong.

Integrated Dropout Design

Norco’s integrated dropouts combine a number of traditionally independent features into a stronger, more efficient rear dropout system. Our integrated dropouts combine axle retention, post-mount brakes, rear suspension pivots, derailleur hanger attachment and frame gussets into a single structure. The result is a stiff, strong and light dropout system.

Page 27: Catálogo de Norco 2013

Smooth (Double Pass) Welding

Norco’s smooth welding process uses two distinct weld passes to produce an improved weld bead geometry that better distributes loads. Used in high stress areas like the head tube and pivots, this labour-intensive process results in a stronger, cleaner weld.

Post Mount Brakes

Integrated into the rear dropouts, the post mount uses half of the hardware of a normal brake mounting system and creates a stronger structure that reduces braking harmonics.

‘Clevisless’ Pivots

A normal pivot point is connected by a piece of material welded to the end of a tube, also known as a clevis. Our ‘clevisless’ pivot system eliminates the need for a clevis by mounting pivot hardware directly into the tapered tube design. With fewer welds these pivots are stiffer, stronger and lighter than traditional designs.

Syntace Integrated Derailleur Hanger

Proven to be substantially stiffer and less prone to damage than conventional derailleur hangers, the X-12 system ensures incredibly crisp and precise shifting. Each frame comes with a spare hanger bolt integrated into the frame for emergency trailside repairs.

Killer B

Halfway between 26” and 29”, 650B wheels deliver the best of both worlds: they accelerate, maneuver and handle like a 26” wheel and provide many of the speed and rollover benefits of a 29” wheel. Every one of our groundbreaking Killer B frames is completely designed around the 650B wheel size. As a result, the Killer B line delivers all of the advantages of the 650B wheel with absolutely no geometry

compromises – even at smaller frame sizes.

360 Lock

Norco’s 360º Lock pivots employ a tapered collet insert that, when the pivot hardware is tightened, expands to grip the inner race of the pivot bearing around the full 360º of its inner diameter. This design creates a much stronger grip, prevents unwanted forces from acting on the bearing and prolongs bearing lifespan.

Mountain biking offers us the opportunity to live fully in the moment. On the trail, mind, body and bike must function as one, and the distractions that tend to clutter our everyday lives disappear. With a focus trained squarely on the features and contours of the trail ahead, the rest of the world fades into the background and we become immersed in the adventure that unfolds.

These pure experiences are the inspiration for every mountain bike we make here at Norco. With every angle, every curve, every layer of carbon and every weld, we work toward a single intention and ultimate purpose: the ride.

We have a long, proud history as a leader in the mountain bike industry, and we embrace our commitment to listen, innovate and ride every day. But like a train of riders out on the trail we are all looking forward, focused on our next move. Our 2013 mountain lineup reflects Norco’s bold, forward-thinking attitude and manifests our desire to design and build the very best bikes imaginable. We make bikes for those precious moments of experience that make us feel truly alive. Thanks for inviting us into your moment.

DH RACE>>

If you’re one of the lucky ones who had the opportunity to test pilot the inaugural Aurum last year, we don’t need to sell you on its capabilities. You already know it is unbelievably fast, and you’ve experienced the bike’s extraordinary stability, cornering and traction firsthand. All of these benefits make the Aurum one heck of a tough act to follow. The 2013 still has everything that made the 2012 Aurum a force, and with a few minor tweaks this year’s model will bring DH riders one step closer to that elusive point of perfect equilibrium between speed and control. The Aurum is back – racing stripe and all – and the bike is more dialed than ever. Throw a leg over one and you’ll be converted, too.

Intended use:

Whether you’re into World Cup downhill runs, marathon park days or after-work shuttle laps, the Aurum delivers unbelievable performance in any gravity-oriented environment. A purpose-built DH bike, it is designed to be fast and controlled over the steepest, most technical terrain imaginable. Flow through rock gardens and sketchy off-camber roots; whip through perilously tight trees; lean hard into corners and explode out of them at Mach speed ready to attack the next feature. The Aurum gives riders the unique ability to turn the most challenging terrain features into advantages over other riders, advantages that distinguish champions from the rest of the pack. There’s a reason we called it the Aurum.

A purpose-built freeride bike, the Truax is designed to handle any terrain you may be inclined to throw it at or huck it over. First descents? Lift-accessed bike park laps? The Truax has you covered. Featuring Norco’s A.R.T. suspension platform, the bike delivers smooth, remarkably efficient pedaling for going up, and 180mm of progressive, “bottomless” travel for coming down. Thanks to the Truax’s incredible versatility, riders can now pedal to the most far-out spots, pick out the gnarliest line and have at it. A slack 65.5° head tube angle and lower bottom bracket give the Truax stability and confidence on the steeps, while lively, responsive handling enables riders to maneuver through tight trees and over the skinniest of skinnies. The Holloform link arm anchors a super-stiff rear-end, so the bike tracks exceptionally well through the rough, corners masterfully and makes the Truax a blast to ride… fast.

Intended use:

The Truax is designed around the needs of the modern freerider, who demands a bike that can be pedaled to the most remote locations and yet will be capable enough to handle any descent. Designed with these needs in mind, the Truax rules over the much wider range of terrain that the term “freeride” encompasses today: massive drops, gap jumps, steep chutes and pretty much anything else a rider’s skills and imagination make possible. These days, riders ceaselessly push the sport into new areas, always looking for bigger features, steeper lines and greater challenges.

The Range Killer B is sure to create a lot of buzz this year. Featuring the game-changing 650B wheel size, the bike is designed to take you higher and farther and delivers the ultimate all-mountain riding experience. As versatile as the riders it is made for, the bike absolutely shines on ups, downs and everything else in between. The Range features 650B-specific geometry, engineered to emphasize all of the benefits of the larger wheel size. 650B wheels improve ride characteristics for both climbing and descending by increasing traction and enabling the bike to float over rocks, roots and other trail obstacles. Featuring 160mm of A.R.T. suspension and Norco’s revolutionary Gravity Tune technology, the Range Killer B might end up being the only bike you ever take out of the garage.

Intended use:

All mountain riding is all about freedom. It’s about the freedom to explore – to go anywhere and ride anything – the thrill of heading deep into the wilderness to discover adventure on unfamiliar trails. The Range Killer B is designed to be a catalyst for your wildest adventures, and it’s a bike that is fun to ride no matter what the trail throws your way. Fire road climbs, tight switchbacks, rolling, flowy singletrack, gnarly rock gardens, twisted off-camber roots, steeps, rock faces, ledge drops... If this sounds like a grocery list for your perfect day on a bike, then the Range Killer B is for you.

The Norco Shinobi is a highly capable, exceptionally versatile 29er that prefers the backcountry to the beaten path. The bike is designed to give riders the flexibility to link up trails however they want: hang with the climbers in the cross-country 29er crowd and charge with the gravity junkies in the all mountain crowd – all in the same day. The benefits of 29” wheels are accentuated by Norco’s A.R.T. suspension system, which makes the Shinobi both a super-efficient pedaling platform and an extremely capable rig for all mountain-style descents. It might just offer the most fun available in a 29er platform.

Intended use:

The Shinobi is inspired by those whose epic rides take them far out into the backcountry, away from the crowds and the well worn, familiar trails. It is a new kind of bike for a new kind of rider: the type whose favourite black diamond descents are often preceded by long, grueling climbs. The Shinobi is designed to do both equally well. The shallow angle of attack that makes 29” wheels so effective at clearing obstacles on the way up also enables them to float over rough stuff on the way down. Throw in 120mm of A.R.T. suspension and a 140mm fork and you have the perfect weapon for the varied terrain that makes up a day of all mountain riding.

For 2013, Norco engineers took the award-winning Sight to a new level by crossing it with the game-changing 650B wheel size. The result is a swifter, more assertive and more capable trail bike – so we called it the Sight Killer B. The new bike features 650B-specific geometry and retains all of the qualities that made the original Sight great: explosive climbing, confident, controlled descending and precise handling. But the Sight Killer B also has an extra dose of attitude that makes it even more confident than its namesake. For those riders who always take the lead in a pack, this bike will be right there with you urging you to ride faster and push harder.

Intended use:

The Sight Killer B is designed for aggressive trail riders: those who find their flow riding the most technically challenging trails on the mountain. Akin to the original Sight, the Sight Killer B is a truly exceptional climber. However, on the descents the bike takes on the demeanor of a killer bee hell-bent on defending its hive – every trail feature becomes a target. The Sight Killer B attacks berms and off-camber roots, smooths out rocky sections and charges drops and hits without hesitation. 650B wheels hit that sweet spot and offer riders the benefits of both traditional wheel sizes, without compromise.

The 2013 Norco Revolver is a fast, race-ready full suspension 29er. The bike’s sleek alloy frame features extensive hydroformed tubing and Norco’s double-pass welding technique, so it is strong, stiff, light and beautiful to look at. 29” wheels clear obstacles with unparalleled speed and efficiency, and they won’t get caught up on roots or rocks – so it’s easier to hold a line through rough descents. The Revolver’s marathon-tuned A.R.T. suspension system optimizes suspension kinematics for fast endurance riding. A tapered head tube, wide handlebars, 15mm front axle dropouts and Syntace X-12 rear hub/axle were brought down from our gravity-oriented platforms to improve responsiveness and make the bike exceedingly fun to ride.

Intended use:

The 2013 Revolver lives for epic rides. With a chassis that is light, stiff and responsive, it is designed to eat up twisting fire road climbs, roll fast through flowy singletrack and eat up technical XC-style trails. Thanks to Norco’s A.R.T. suspension platform, the Revolver remains bob-free on the climbs and is remarkably capable on the descents. 29” wheels deliver a smoother, more consistent ride experience than traditional 26” wheels, and are particularly well suited to XC/marathon riding and endurance races like the BC Bike Race. The Revolver is a bike that loves to roll for hours, so if your idea of a “long ride” is sunrise to sunset, the Revolver is right there with you.

The Norco Team delivers championship cross-country race performance to serious riders who demand nothing less than the very best from their bikes. The full carbon Team 29er is fast and ultra light – just what you’d expect from a bike designed to win races. These bikes are the lightest in our dirt lineup, and their high performance drivetrains and incredible lateral stiffness also make them Norco’s most efficient off-road pedaling platform. 29er wheels are key to the Team recipe: they roll faster than their smaller cousins and help the bike to clear roots and rocks so riders can hold a line and focus on the finish. There’s a reason world-class athletes like Catherine Vipond and Andrew Watson race and win on them.

Intended use:

The Team is fast and light – purpose-built for XC racing. It is also a great option for non-racers who are serious about their riding and want the lightweight and high performance of a race bike for everyday use. The Team is right at home on technical World Cup courses, dominates the local race circuit and will get you through your favourite local XC loop faster than ever before. Precise, responsive handling gives the bike an extremely nimble feel, so you can pick your way through the tech and find the fastest line with ease. Hammer up gut-busting climbs, conquer technical sections and rip the descents. Whatever terrain you’re facing, the Team is the fastest way to the podium – or just the finish line in your head.

Norco’s BC Trail series are hardtail trail bikes built for off-road riding. These bikes feature custom mechanically formed tubing, round stays and semi-integrated head tubes, so they’re lightweight, strong and durable. Stock bashguards reduce wear and tear on components, enabling riders to hit the trails day after day, worry-free. Disc brakes deliver reliable stopping power, giving riders the confidence to push themselves and improve their skills. Norco’s BC Trail series are a lot of hard-charging fun at a very reasonable price.

Intended use:

Norco’s BC Trail series bikes are designed and tested on British Columbia’s rugged, demanding mountain trails, so they are a solid option for anyone who needs a tough, capable bike. Rigid rear-ends mean a super stiff pedaling platform for climbing, and BC Trail bikes are just as confident and stable on the way down. Well-suited to larger riders and those who go hard on their equipment, these bikes are built to last. The BC Trail series has everything you need to take your trail riding to the next level, without the next level price tag.

Every year we refine our Dirt/Street line to keep pace with the progression of the sport and the rapidly evolving needs of riders. We do this by working very closely with riders who help us to ensure that every detail is absolutely dialed. The whole lineup is light, strong and super durable, and the bikes feature many of today’s most sought-after features including integrated head tubes, shorter chain stays, disc brakes, low standover and wide high-rise bars. When it comes to looks, we’ve taken cues from our BMX line and offer bikes with a clean, understated look, flat paints and metallic colors. Tough and stylish, Norco’s Dirt/Street line strikes a balance between form and function – much like the sport itself.

Intended use:

We design our Dirt/Street line with riders because we build bikes for riders. That said, we know that the people who ride these bikes often hit dirt jumps, slopestyle runs, skate parks and street, so we build highly versatile bikes and spec the lightest, strongest parts available. Our entry- to pro-level bikes are designed to be low and compact with a short rear end, so spins and whips feel smooth and natural. Chromoly frames are built light and tough, ready to withstand any type of abuse you can dish out. As long as riders keep pushing the limits of what is possible on two wheels, we’ll keep building the bikes they need to keep testing those boundaries.

Every bike in Norco’s world-class BMX lineup is built light and strong – as required by the athletes who ride them. The bikes are designed in close collaboration with riders, so the outcome is a BMX that feels confident and stable in the air while still being light enough to throw around with ease. And we make a ride to fit every body: size-specific handlebars and tubes ensure ideal sizing, while the entry- to pro-level lineup includes a model to suit just about any budget. When it comes to spec, our philosophy is simple: Light. Strong. Every bike in the line features unique graphics and artwork, slick decals and a low-key look with flat paints and metallic colors. We know that style is an important part of BMX culture, and these bikes are designed to look as sick as they ride.

Intended use:

Today’s BMX riders need a bike that can rip everywhere: rails, sets, skate parks, dirt jumps – pretty much anywhere there’s something fun to hit – the only limit is a rider’s imagination. That’s why Norco makes BMX bikes designed to rule in any environment. The key to making the best, most versatile BMX is to start with a frame that is super light, yet strong enough to withstand the punishment. All of our BMX frames feature hi-ten steel to full chromoly construction and 25/9 gearing. In BMX there are no shortcuts to greatness, and we take no shortcuts with our BMX line.

Every year there are more of us incorporating bicycles into our lives, and that’s a good thing. People choose to ride bicycles for a variety of reasons: We ride because bikes are a fast, efficient, reliable way to get around. We ride because we want to do our part for the environment and leaving the car at home makes a difference. We ride because cycling is good for our physical and mental health – not to mention the good it does for our pocketbooks, our communities and our social lives. But most of all we ride because it makes us happy. There’s an adventure to be found around every corner…

There are so many different kinds of people taking to two wheels these days, and Norco’s 2013 urban lineup reflects that diversity. Each bike represents a blend of form and function, carefully balanced to achieve the best possible bicycle for wherever you ride: to work, to school or to the park with friends. The entire line is carefully thought out to satisfy the growing range of tastes and intended uses emerging in cities and towns around the world. From casual day-trippers to fitness-minded all-weather commuters, we make a bike that will help you fall in love with the ride all over again.

URBAN PERFORMANCE>>

URBAN PERFORMANCE>>

The most “urban” bike in Norco’s urban category, the Indie stands out from the crowd by being more about attitude than appearances. The bike’s tough yet lightweight butted alloy frame is built to withstand daily doses of point A to B punishment, while relaxed geometry encourages an upright riding position that lets you keep an eye on traffic while staying comfortable in the saddle. Available in a variety of different styles, colours and gearing options, every Indie looks right at home on city streets and delivers a fast, efficient and comfortable ride. Don’t settle for the same old, same old: be Indie.

Intended use:

Those who have spent some time riding bikes in the city know that the urban jungle can present a rider with unexpected obstacles: potholes, construction zones and uneven surfaces threaten to throw you off your game with little or no warning. The Indie is designed for all of those unexpected situations that make cycling in the city such a rush. For added urban utility, the Indie comes equipped with rack and fender mounts so you can carry all your daily gear and stay dry. The Indie is available in either an understated look that blends inconspicuously into urban environments, or in bright, modern colours that stand out on busy city streets. Indie: Your ride. Your style.

COMMUTING Bikes for city riding, commuting to work or school

SPORT TOURING

Road bikes with a more relaxed upright riding position. Great for Fitness road riding or for commuting. Light and fast.

TREKKING Trekking bikes have become the all-purpose bike. Tough enough to take on the city, but efficient and comfortable to carry through the countryside all day. 700c wheels roll smoother and faster than 26, but give up a bit of flat protection.

COMFORT / LIFESTYLE

Comfort bikes are designed with more relaxed angles, larger-volume smooth tires, adjustable upright stem, and a suspension seatpost.

OUR GUARANTEENo matter how hard you look, you will never see a new Norco bike being sold on the Internet or in a Big Box store. Why? Because we can only build our bikes up to a certain point before shipping them and after they leave our warehouse, they are only as good as the dealers that assemble and sell them. That’s why each & every Norco authorized dealer is hand-selected by our reps for their quality, professionalism and their wealth of bicycle knowledge. This way, we can assure each and every Norco customer that their bike is the perfect fit for both their bodies and lifestyle, and that they are well taken care of after the sale has been made. Bikes aren’t something you just buy and forget about. With the care & attention you and your dealer give your Norco bike, the two of you will have a long lifetime together, and the relationship you build with your local independent bicycle dealer is one you and your bike will both appreciate.SAFETYIt just isn’t possible to foresee every dangerous scenario you might encounter on a bike. Cycling, especially through tough, technical terrain or riding the city streets can be dangerous. With this in mind, always make sure you’re wearing appropriate safety gear for the type of riding you enjoy, including a helmet, gloves, sunscreen and, in the case of aggressive off-road cycling, appropriate body

armor and a full face helmet. They could make the difference between getting up, dusting off and a few bumps & bruises or a life-altering disaster. When buying your Norco bike, it’s important to be clear with yourself and your Norco dealer regarding what type of riding you intend to do, as each Norco bike designed and engineered to work best for its specific discipline of cycling. Parts changes or upgrades that are contrary to the bike’s original purpose may alter its handling and could result in failure or loss of control. That means you might fall and get hurt. So please check with your Norco dealer before changing any part of your bike. Know your limits and ride within them, and if you’re looking to improve, contact your local cycling club or association about riding clinics offered and learn from the experts. For additional crucial safety information, every Norco bike is supplied with an Owner’s Manual or could be obtained online from www.norco.com. Read it IN FULL to ensure you will be enjoying your Norco bike for years to come.
