The Indie-‐pop band Lucius, formed in 2008, has been hailed for its charisma and charm. It features the unique harmony of lead-‐vocalists Holly Laessig and Jess Wolfe and the impressive talent of instrumentalists Andrew Burri, Dan Molad, and our own CBNA alumnus Peter Lalish ’01. The Brooklyn-‐based quintet launched its debut album “Wildewoman” worldwide this past March 31, 2014. Featured recently on Conan O’Brien, the band performed a fan-‐favorite “Turn It Around” with its infec=ous rhythm and 60’s-‐style harmony. The band begins the U.S. leg of its tour in May and =ckets are available for the local show July 26 at The Newport Folk Fes=val in Newport R.I. Follow Lucius at www.ilovelucius.com Peter Lalish ’01(center) & band members
2004: An informal gathering is scheduled for July 19th at Pawtuckaway State Park to celebrate 10 years! For more info, visit the class Facebook group page or contact Stacy Randazzo at [email protected] for more details.
Congratula=ons to Coe-‐Brown Alumna Adi Rule ’97 for her debut novel, STRANGE SWEET SONG. In this young-‐adult tale, a young soprano enrolls at a remote music academy where nothing is as it seems. The dark forest nearby calls to her, full of secrets and danger. Now she has a part to play in a centuries-‐old story of magic, grief, love and opera before she can find her own voice. Sure to be a reader’s top-‐choice, its available now from St Mar=n’s Press. Adi’s many accomplishments include singing in the chorus of the Boston Symphony Orchestra/Boston Pops, with whom she has also been a soloist, and a short story, “Firebug” published in the Live Free or Die, Die, Die (Anthology). Her next novel from St Mar=n’s, REDWING, is scheduled to come out in 2015. Follow what’s to come from the desk of Adi at www.adirule.com

2014 NH Maple Weekend at Spring Harvest Maple Farm in Barr ington, Alumnus Josh Bouchard ’98 was hard at work. It takes hundreds of gallons of sap, a stoked fire, and a watchful eye to make the seasona l sweet syrup. Don’t forget some map l e t affy , map l e bu?ernut squash bisque, and maple BBQ sauce!
In 2012, Josh’s maple syrup was awarded 1st place in the state by NH Maple Producers Associa=on
Caramel-‐colored samples help to “grade the syrup”. Which is your favorite? Light, Medium or Dark amber?
From stoking the fire and boiling the sap, the end result is a steady stream of pure local NH maple syrup ready for bo?ling and ready for sale!
Save the Date! CBNA Homecoming is scheduled for September 13, 2014. Many events are planned for students, alumni and community. Already scheduled: soccer games, track & field, volleyball, a bass fishing tournament, and hypno=st show; plus food vendors throughout the day! More informa=on to come, so stay tuned!
