Dear Friends, Kate Doherty will be sharing the pulpit with me this week. After that she will be moving to take the position of Outreach Director for Catholic Cemeteries. In the supervision of multiple minis-tries and staff responsibilities, Kate has demonstrated caring leadership, grace, love and pa-tience. I saw her as a woman of great inspiration and integrity. “Working with Kate over the last 11 years has been a gift. When I hired her little did I know she would be such a gift not only to me personally, but to the entire parish. She will be missed.” – Brian Joyce “The day I met Kate, I knew she was amazing! She was a young, smart, 26 year old from Bos-ton who was about to be our new Youth Minister. She would eventually change my life for the better along with the hundreds of teenagers and parishioners who benefited from her leadership, love of God, and her passion for social justice. Not only did I have a co-worker I would enjoy

so much to work with, but I would find a lifelong friend who I have come to admire and love. I will miss you Kate!” – Helen Christian “It’s been an absolute pleasure working with Kate. When she moved from the youth ministry office to the parish of-fice, she brought with her so much enthusiasm and positive energy that it radiated to the rest of us. Kate’s hard work and dedication, especially to social justice were a great example for us all. She will be missed.” - Robin Morley I would like to express the gratitude of our loving and caring community to Kate Doherty for her commitment and ded-ication to everything. May God bless her in her new role in the Diocese of Oakland!

The Most Holy Trinity Sunday

First Reading: Exodus 34:4-6, 8-9 When Moses saw the Israelite people worshipping the golden calf, he angrily threw down and broke the tablets containing the commandments. Later, God instructed him to cut two new tablets. This passage begins at that point, and offsets the mistak-en notion that the Old Testament always presents a stern and angry God.

Second Reading: 2 Corinthians 13:11-13 This passage is the ending of Paul’s second let-ter to the Corinthians. The Church chose this pas-sage for Trinity Sunday because it mentions all three persons of the Trinity. The passage also con-tains a familiar greeting which we hear at the begin-ning of Mass.

Liturgy and the Holy Trinity

The Trinity is the central mystery of our faith. We believe that God is one, yet three: total unity and

rich diversity. God is not a monolith, but a dynam-ic community of persons, a perfect, loving harmo-

ny of three. And the liturgy is the work of the Trinity. We begin all our liturgical celebrations

with the sign of the cross, a reminder of our Trini-tarian baptism, and the simplest of all professions of our faith. We believe that God is Father, Son,

and Holy Spirit, and we gather in the name of this triune God. Throughout the Mass, we address our

prayers to God the Father, through Christ our Lord, in the Spirit's power. And the Father hears our prayer, transforming bread and wine into the Body and Blood of his Son by the Holy Spirit.
