Dear Fellow AUMC Members and Friends,

We hope as you receive this message that above all, you, your families and all those you love and care for are safe,

sound and healthy, as we weather together the current crisis with the Covid-19 virus.

For many, our everyday lives have changed greatly in a very short amount of time. That's why it is all the more im-portant to hold on to what constants we can through connections with our family, friends, colleagues, community and our church. While we all make necessary adjustments to our daily schedules and routines, and to Sunday messages and scripture delivered through Facebook or email vs. in person, we must make every effort to keep some things as normal as possible, and this includes our normal rate of giving to the church - even if we are not able to be together and present for offerings on upcoming Sundays. Our congregation has weathered a few global crisis events in its long history, and with everyone's help and dedication, we can be here to weather more (if need be) in the decades, if not

centuries to come.

The following is a quick list of the most expedient ways one can give to AUMC, in this challenging time:

1) If you are healthy and can do so during a brief trip out, drop a check by the church by dropping a check in an enve-lope through the mail slot in the church doors at the corner of Church Street and Plumb Alley (the slot collection is

checked multiple times, daily. Please note that this metal slot is disinfected several times a day.

2) Use your on-line bill paying service to write a check and have it sent to the church on your behalf (if this option is

available through your bill paying service)

3) Use the on-line giving option available through VANCO on our church website to make a one-time gift using a credit

or debit card!!!!

4) Place your check in the mail to us at 101 E. Main Street, Abingdon, VA 24210.

As you consider which of the above options might work best for you at this time, please prayerfully consider whether you might also be able to get ahead on your 2020 gifts to the church. If you can get ahead, by a few weeks or a month or two, doing so may help to provide the financial stability AUMC needs at this time to continue delivering on our mis-

sion for both our congregation and our greater community!
