Our Mission:The Mission of every Catholic Parish was given it by Jesus Christ when he said to the eleven “All power in heaven and earth has beengiven to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the HolySpirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28: 26-30) Our mission is to spread the Gospel!Second Sunday of Easter The World calls it Spring! Christians call it Easter! The Church celebrates the Season of Easter for 50 days, until Pentecost Sunday. We continue to hear and read wonderful stories of the appearances of Jesus on that day and during that time. However, the one person who is missing from these events and stories is Mary, the mother of Jesus. Although not recorded, imagine her joy! During this time, the Church gives Mary her own prayer called the Regina Coeli (Queen of Heaven). This prayer replaces the Salve Regina (Hail Holy Queen) in all Liturgical prayers during the Easter Season. You may wish to pray it:
Queen of heaven, rejoice, Alleluia For He whom thou did merit to bear, Alleluia Has risen as he said, Alleluia Pray for us to God, Alleluia Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary, Alleluia For the Lord has truly risen Alleluia. Let us pray. O God who gave joy to the world through the resurrection of your son, our Lord Jesus Christ, grant we beseech you, that through the intercession of the virgin Mary, his mother, we may obtain the joys of everlasting life.
