Staff News
Congratulations to Mrs Ward who has been appointed as Acting Assistant Headteacher
until the end of the Summer Term. Miss D’Attorre will be starting her Maternity Leave
in March and Mrs Fawcett will be teaching Year 5Y in her absence. A very warm welcome to Mrs
Zahida Patel who has joined us as a School Meals Supervisory Assistant.
Volunteers As you know, pupils, staff, and parents here at Church
Road Primary School enjoy a warm, caring community that fosters the highest standards of academic, social and
emotional growth. The efforts of volunteers are a vital part of that community. We are extremely fortunate to have a
fantastic group of voluntary workers and over the next few months, we will introduce them to you on the Newsletter.
Danny Gould Danny joined the team over 3 years ago and has
supported the school and enhanced children's learning in a number of ways. He first began volunteering in 2015 and initially was able to help temporarily with caretaking duties as he brought with him his skills and knowledge from his
previous career, working in a school. His versatility has allowed him to work across all key
stages and support the children with reading and mathematics and he runs an after school Maths Club,
which has proved to be very successful. On behalf of Church Road School we would like to thank Danny
for his continued dedication, commitment and hard work !
Parent View I would like to say a big thank you for your overwhelming support and positive feedback since becoming the Headteacher at Church Road School. Our staff are committed to providing our pupils with best education possible in a fun environment and are able to achieve this by working together with our parents. I would be very grateful if you could spare a minute to register with Parent View. Please see the link below.

Parent View is an Ofsted managed website that collects the opinions of parents and guardians from different schools. Your views matter to us and enables the school to keep improving. Church Road’s Parent View site has been visited infrequently and therefore, may I ask that you visit the site and provide your valued feedback. I look forward to reading some of your responses. Mrs Docherty.
Equality Day Equality Day is on Wednesday 27th February. All
classes will be participating in activities and we will have some visitors in school. If any parents can help in any way, please could they speak to their
child’s class teacher.
IMPORTANT NOTICE Please NO NUTS/PEANUTS in school, we have a child with a severe
allergy.
Updated information regarding children with nut allergy
Since this condition can be life threatening, we are asking for your help in
minimising the risk to this child by:
Not sending your child to school with peanuts/nuts in school
lunch boxes or as a snack.
No peanut butter sandwiches, or other spreads containing nuts such as
Nutella.
No snack or cereal bar that states ‘may contain peanuts’.
Asking children not to share their lunch with friends.
Snack/cereal bars that state ‘may contain traces of nuts’ in school lunch-
es or as a snack are allowed in school (in the majority of items within this
snack range state ‘may contain traces of nuts’).
