Miss D’Attorre will be starting her Maternity Leave in March and Mrs Fawcett will be teaching Year 5Y in her absence. A very warm welcome to Mrs Zahida Patel who has joined us as a School Meals Supervisory Assistant. Volunteers As you know, pupils, staff, and parents here at Church Road Primary School enjoy a warm, caring community that fosters the highest standards of academic, social and emotional growth. The efforts of volunteers are a vital part of that community. We are extremely fortunate to have a fantastic group of voluntary workers and over the next few months, we will introduce them to you on the Newsletter. Danny Gould Danny joined the team over 3 years ago and has supported the school and enhanced children's learning in a number of ways. He first began volunteering in 2015 and initially was able to help temporarily with caretaking duties as he brought with him his skills and knowledge from his previous career, working in a school. His versatility has allowed him to work across all key stages and support the children with reading and mathematics and he runs an after school Maths Club, which has proved to be very successful. On behalf of Church Road School we would like to thank Danny for his continued dedication, commitment and hard work ! Parent View I would like to say a big thank you for your overwhelming support and positive feedback since becoming the Headteacher at Church Road School. Our staff are committed to providing our pupils with best education possible in a fun environment and are able to achieve this by working together with our parents. Updated information regarding children with nut allergy Since this condition can be life threatening, we are asking for your help in minimising the risk to this child by: Not sending your child to school with peanuts/nuts in school lunch boxes or as a snack. No peanut butter sandwiches, or other spreads containing nuts such as Nutella. No snack or cereal bar that states ‘may contain peanuts’. Asking children not to share their lunch with friends. Snack/cereal bars that state ‘may contain traces of nuts’ in school lunch- es or as a snack are allowed in school (in the majority of items within this snack range state ‘may contain traces of nuts’).

Congratulations to Mrs Ward who has been appointed as Acting Assistant Headteacher

Café Italia Reception & Nursery had so much fun on their recent trip to

chocolates all round, what

a treat!

World Book Day World book day Thursday 7th March. We are going

to be having a 'book week' in school with a celebration of our learning on book day. We are not dressing up this year but we will be learning about an author and creating hats and masks in relation to their stories. Please note that

reading diaries will now be resuming.

Parent and teacher association

We are holding a Ladies Night on Wednesday

20th March between 6.30pm & 8.30pm. We hope

you ladies will be able to support the event. If you

have contacts who can provide treatments or sell

products on the night, please contact Mrs Crossey

at school. The evening is about chatting, beauty

treatments and a little light shopping. What more

could you want! Tickets are priced at £3 each and

will be available early March.

If you are having a spring clear out of your

clothes, please could you bear us in mind? Please

could you bag up any clothes that are not suitable

for the charity shop and bring them to school on

the morning of Friday 17th May, where they will

be weighed and collected at 9am by Bags 2

School.

Our next PTA Meeting will be on Tuesday 13th

March at 3.45pm, everybody is welcome to

attend, the more the merrier!

BINGO! Our ever popular Easter Bingo will be held on Wednesday 3rd April. The doors will open at 6pm and we will be “eyes down” at 6:30pm. We will inform you when tickets are available, once on sale you can purchase them from the office for 50p which is your ticket for the first game “stand up bingo”, so don’t forget to bring it along on the night! On the night you will need to buy additional bingo cards. There will be refreshments and a raffle. Make sure you get your tickets quickly as they sell out fast. If you are able to donate any cakes they would be very gratefully received. Please send them into school on the morning of 3rd April. Don’t forget our non uniform day on Friday 29th March -just £1 to put towards buying some fabulous Easter Eggs.
