RetroFlex is the simple solution to traditional streetlight infrastructure:

o Metered and Off-Grid – both options can provide uninterrupted, highly efficient LED lighting during normal and adverse operating conditions (see story below).

o Product Payback – cost savings are immediate through multiple financing options with payback periods ranging from 4 years to 10 years.

o No money down - Structured financing through ClearWorld can provide no out-of-pocket expense combined with immediate savings.

o Product Maintenance - RetroFlex maintenance provided by ClearWorld for 10 years.

o Product Life - Supplier warranties on all major components.

RETROFLEX® HURRICANE

ISAAC

Prior to Hurricane Isaac, ClearWorld began an off-grid pilot

program in Harahan, LA (near New Orleans). As the storm

system made landfall in LA, high winds and constant rain led

to localized power outages, including outages throughout

Harahan. There was only one bright spot during the storm:

ClearWorld’s RetroFlex pilot program installation in Harahan.

ClearWorld employees traveled to the well lit corner in

Harahan to verify and document the event. Following the

storm, the pilot RetroFlex unit in Harahan has continued to

perform within specifications measured during the original

installation.

Flexible: RetroFlex’s patented retro-fit allows the panels to be affixed to any dimension, diameter, or finish, and will work with any existing pole without compromising the integrity of its design. It also works with existing LED installations.

Weather Resistant: RetroFlex’s cylindrical design is rated for 150+ m.p.h. winds, making it hurricane resistant. All components are installed atop the pole to eliminate any flooding concerns as well.

Renewable: RetroFlex can qualify for both renewable standards and energy efficiency standards throughout the U.S. The combination of solar power, efficient LED lighting, and battery storage creates a number of options in achieving compliance.

Savings

Structured Financing (15 year term)

Traditional Streetlight Costs include:

1. Initial cost of installation (typically considered a sunk cost)

2. Energy usage approximately 4,000 hours per light per year

3. Maintenance costs for each light and pole

4. Replacement costs for each light (new light every 4 years)

5. Additional labor for light replacement

Debt Financing (6 year term)

RetroFlex provides immediate savings:

Eliminates Energy Usage Costs - Solar conversion powers LED lighting

Reduced Maintenance - RetroFlex Maintenance provided by ClearWorld

Eliminates Replacement Costs – 20 year life for LED lighting

RULE OF THUMB:If annual spending on energy usage and maintenance per light is $200 or greater, then RetroFlex is a viable economic alternative.

Peak Demand Reduction1

Alleviates Distribution Constraints

Off-Grid achieves grid independence and improves reliability during extreme weather events and distribution system interruptions. Also eliminates significant costs incurred for new streetlight installations (trenching, wiring, etc.).

Net Metering and DGAES leverage import and export capabilities to enhance system performance and reduce peak demand during daylight hours. Low wattage LED power consumption occurs for 10 hours each night during periods of low demand.

1Peak Demand Reduction for RetroFlex-NM limited by the coincidental time of day solar penetration and system peak demand.
