They began their journey to build a successful licensed cafe business model that captured the exciting Cuban experience. Inspired by Havana, Coco Cubano was born in the inner city streets of Potts Point - Sydney, Australia in 2008.

Soon after the first doors opened, the Coco Cubano way of life spread and as a result franchising began in 2012. Coco Cubano has now grown to 12 locations across Australia.

The business has been one of the fastest growing franchise groups in Australia.

Coco is a unique business concept and nothing like this has existed before in Australia. With an all day product mix, Coco Cubano caters to numerous demographics. The multiple business formats available to franchisees allow for targeted venues that suit the location and the customers.

Coco Cubano began as a Café/Bar, and has since been developed into two models;

CUBANITA (KIOSK/IN LINE STORE)

The Cubanita Kiosk is the newest format, designed to be located within higher foot traffic areas. Being the smallest, the lowest cost and the most scalable format, the Cubanita is the easiest Coco Cubano to run and manage. Coco Cubano’s first Cubanita opened in October 2016 in the newly redeveloped Pacific Fair shopping centre (Gold Coast, QLD).

The Cubanita Kiosk offers counter service and features a new smaller menu. Developed to fit the faster pace and more casual environment of a kiosk shop. The Cubanita provides an easy escape and a good meeting place within shopping centres making coffee and a quality pastry cabinet integral to the mix.

CAFÉ/RESTAURANT/BAR (CRB)

The ‘Café/Bar’ model provides a range of light café meals, tapas, gourmet sandwiches (made on site), barista made coffee, drink, cocktails and desserts. There is an option to license alcohol if the market or country permits it.

Café/Bars provide semi - table service, and are typically located in high traffic areas like malls, shopping centres or dinning strips. They attract both breakfast, lunch crowds and dinner crowd.

The two models have each been developed to suit a variety of site locations. Coco Cubano is for everyone, and everywhere, and you will find us in:

Q. What are the terms of the franchise agreement?

A. The total upfront fee ranges between US$150,000 and US$750,000 depending on the size of the region and gives you exclusive Master Franchise rights to the region for a minimum 10 years with a further 10 year option. The ongoing royalty fee is set as a percentage of net sales and per store opening franchise fee will be determined by the size of the market and development plan.

Q. What does the franchise fee cover?

A. Paying the franchise fee gives you the right to use the brand, signage, store design, cooking manuals and operations manuals. It also covers the cost of your upfronttraining (excluding travel and accomodation), legal costs incurred to draft the Master Franchise Agreement and support given by head office in providing market entry assistance. You will receive exclusive rights to operate the Coco Cubano brand in your country and sub-franchise rights.

Q. How long will the process take?

A. It will depend largely on how quickly the business plan and management meetings can be completed. before entering your first store the supply chain, training, design and construction takes anywhere from 6 to 12 months.

A. Coco Cubano are seeking well capitalised partners who are entreprenurial and have a strong knowledge of their market. Whilst now required, previous experience in the food and beverage industry is preferable.
