College Counselor: Metro

College Admissions Specialists: CSMB, Gateway*, McKinley, Northwest (funded through SLPS

Foundation)

MIZZOU College Advising Corps: Central VPA, Cleveland, Gateway, Roosevelt, Soldan

Washington University College Advising Corps: Miller, Sumner, Vashon

ENROLL, ENLIST, and EMPLOY These are the 3 E’s we focus on with our students to help them find

their passion, focus, and next step.

#FINDYOURPATH is our tagline because the journey of post-secondary is a path and rarely 1 or 2 steps.

School Counselors and College Support Members track ALL seniors and help support them in their interest.

Post-Secondary Leadership Team Meetings are held every two weeks at each of our High Schools to discuss students and their plans.

We track On-Track status, MSIP points, Assessments taken, FAFSA completion, College Applications submitted, College Acceptances, and Scholarship Dollars

CITY CAREER COLLEGE (C3)

A partnership with Ranken Technical College through a National Science Foundation Grant

Fulltime employee to support awareness, selection preparation, selection and retention

Second year of grant, first cohort this fall

Expect 6 to 10 students

EARLY COLLEGE ACADEMY

25 SLPS Seniors graduated with their High School Diploma and an Associates Degree

The Class of 2019 has 30 students for 2018 - 2019

The Class of 2020 has 25 students for 2018 - 2019

OTHER COLLEGE OPPORTUNITIES

Harris-Stowe State University, under the leadership of the High School Network Superintendent, provided a Dual Enrollment Program last spring for 53 students. We expect to offer that again.

2017-2018 HIGHLIGHTS

Increased Scholarship Dollars by 25% Increased College Opportunities Initiated TWO Department of Labor Pre-Apprenticeship

Programs – one in Early Childhood and one in Carpentry C3 Program with Ranken Recognized for our FAFSA Completion Rates Attended a National Post-Secondary Convening in Chicago

which is kicking off work on Predictive Data Use and Best Practices for 8th to 9th grade transition and 9th grade success supports

ADDITIONAL HIGHLIGHTS

SLPS Summer College and Career Center was initiated

Funding for an increase in College Support at Gateway STEM was arranged through the SLPS Foundation for the 2018/19 school year

Our 2018 Graduates are expected to attend 131 different colleges in 28 states

SLPS will have graduates of 2018 in all 5 Branches of the Military
