Definitions for key terms
Pitch The quality of a sound governed by the rate of vibrations producing it
Volume The amplitude or loudness of a sound
Tone A musical or vocal sound with reference to its pitch, quality, and strength
Pace The speed acceleration and deceleration of speech, use of pauses
Syntax the way in which linguistic elements (as words) are put together to form constituents (as phrases or clauses)
