2021Company Profile
We help to create enriching environmentsby putting people first and creating new value.
Purpose of Nomura Group
As professionals in space creation and vitalization, and also as clients’ partner, our purpose is to
deliver delight and passion to people and contribute to realizing a better world amid the rapid
changes taking place in society.
Today, society is driving change at an unprecedented rate.
People’s values are diversifying, we are in the midst of the digital transformation, and the
COVID-19 pandemic has altered our daily lives in ways no one imagined.
These changes will redefine what people want and need.
At NOMURA Group, we must once again ask ourselves what value spaces need to deliver to
people and the society, what potential can be realized, and then take action.
As spatial design is redefined by sustainability, we remain committed to contributing to clients’
business success and development.
We seek to use the power of spaces in cities and local communities to deliver sustainable
vitality, to cultivate culture and goodwill for the land while passing down its history and
memory.
And as people’s values diversify, we create experiential spaces able to unite people’s hearts
and minds.
We will do this through each project we do.
In fiscal 2021, we will give shape to the theme we set forth last year “to become a company for
the good of society” with specific actions.
To this end, we will proactively incorporate ESG factors into our management and advance
reforms in work styles and in human resource development to evolve into a corporate group
able to take on even greater challenges than before.
NOMURA Group will channel the changes of the times into energy to fuel our growth and make
big moves, and we would like to ask for your ongoing support.
Representative Director, President and CEO Shuji Enomoto

Exhibitions & Events
This is a facility in Yokohama where we realized the dream of creating an 18-meter-tall life-size moving Gundam so people can experience it.The space consists of two main areas: GUNDAM-DOCK, which houses the moving Gundam and the deck where maintenance work is performed, and GUNDAM-LAB, which features entertaining and informational exhibits showing visitors how the moving Gundam works. GUNDAM-DOCK also includes GUNDAM-DOCKTOWER, a special observation deck that gives visitors a thrilling, up-close look at the head and body of the moving Gundam from heights of 15–18 m. The life-size Gundam lets people experience the Gundam IP popular both inside and outside Japan together with Japanese manufacturing and advanced technological capabilities. In the Gundam Global Challenge project to get the life-size Gundam to move, as the technical partner we handled the moving Gundam’s schematic design, construction and effects planning, as well as the entertaining and informative exhibit installations showing how the moving Gundam works inside the GUNDAM-LAB complex, and the planning, concept design, schematic design, and construction inside the ACADEMY area, while providing comprehensive technical support under the supervision and cooperation of the copyright holder.

NOMURA strives to deliver delight and passion by creating and utilizing spaces. Under a management philosophy that emphasizes respect for people and the creation of new value, our CSR activities revolve around the three pillars of ‘quality, safety & environment’ , ‘cultural & social engagement’ and ‘personnel development & working environment’ . Through these initiatives, we seek to create a future of mutual prosperity in the ‘spaces’ of local and global society.
Our CSR Activities
Given that the NOMURA Group uses a vast amount of timber and wood products to create spaces through our business activities, we regard our contributions to forest conservation and sustainable timber distribution as an important social responsibili-ty. To this end, we established the NOMURA Timber Procurement Guideline to actively promote the procurement of Fair Wood (legally and sustainably procured timber). The guidelines are put into practice for our employees, clients, as well as the broader society via our Declaration of Support for the Fair Wood Campaign. Through the use of Fair Wood and related support activities, we seek to provide added value for our customers.
Quality, Safety &Environment
We recognize that quality assurance, health and safety, and environmental protection are part of our corporate duties; at the same time, we also regard these areas as a basis for creating new value. To this end, we are continuously improving each facet through initiatives linked to our business activities.
Personnel Development & Working Conditions
People are our greatest asset. As such, we strive to create work environments that facilitate employee wellbeing while enabling individuals to demonstrate their creativity. We also promote initiatives that raise awareness of diversity and inclusion, ensuring that our work practices continue to adapt with the times.
Declaration of Support for the Fair Wood Campaign Embracing the uniqueness of each individual employee as
a source of new value creation, we strive to create environments that cater to diverse work styles with mutual respect for different personal circumstances and values.
Diversity Initiatives
NOMURA established new community spaces, known as RE/SP (Reset Spaces), within our head office. As well as offering individuals a place to reset and revitalize both body and mind, these spaces trigger creativity by deepening connections between employees and facilitating communication between people of diverse backgrounds.
Evolution of the workplace during social change
For the NOMURA Group, people are our greatest asset in creating new value. The NOMURA Training Center works to strengthen quality and safety through personnel development.
