Principal’s Report
Nine of our students participated in the Regional Athletics Trials in Dubbo last Friday. Riley, Nic, Zac and Hayley represented in a range of track events, while Matthew, Jarryd, Robert, Vanessa and Danielle participated in field events such as high jump, long jump, shot put and discus. We thank the parents and carers who supported these students.
Our congratulations go to all students on their efforts, and especially to Vanessa Harris on being selected to represent Western NSW at State Athletics in October. Vanessa placed first in high jump and second in discus.
Twinkle
Our students have a wonderful opportunity to attend a special performance of Twinkle by a visiting theatre company from the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre next Tuesday, 9 September. The cost is $3 per student.
The show explores ‘stars, galaxies, space and what lies beyond, Twinkle is a magical show that investigates the wonders of what’s above us’. Up to thirty primary students from Condobolin have the opportunity to participate in drama workshops and perform with the theatre company in this production.
Variety Concert Rehearsals
Students are involved in a number of rehearsals for the Variety Concert this week. Students will need to have costumes available by next Monday for a full dress rehearsal on Friday, 12 September.
The matinee performance of our annual Variety Concert will be held on Tuesday, 16 September, with two evening performances the following night.
Father’s Day Stall
The P&C will be running a Father’s Day Stall this Thursday, 4 September.
Born to Read
Infant’s students will walk to the RSL on Thursday, 11 September to participate in the 10th Anniversary celebration of Born to Read to be held at 11.30 am. The students will be present at the official launch of author Libby Hathorn’s new book, A Baby For Loving. Students will also be treated to a special performance by Scallywagz as part of the big birthday celebrations.
Primary students will have the opportunity to meet with Libby Hathorn on Wednesday, 10 September at our school hall.
NAPLAN Results
It is expected that the results of this year’s NAPLAN assessments will be sent home by the end of this week. An information evening will be held in the School Library next Tuesday 9 September at 6.00 pm. Light refreshments will be served prior to session.
