Configuring Your Office 365 Account on your Android Device Office 365 is UMass Dartmouth’s email, calendar, and collaboration solution, replacing Zimbra Collaboration Suite. To use Office 365 on your Android device, you must add your account as described in this document.

1.! Open your device, open the App Drawer, then open the GMail app, as shown here. Note that the images in this document depict Android 6.0.1 on a OnePlus 3 phone. Your device may appear differently. Important: Your device must have internet access to complete this procedure!

The Add Account options are displayed.

The Exchange account details are displayed.

6.! Enter your UMass Dartmouth Email address into the field provided, then tap the Next link at the bottom.

The new account attempts to configure itself automatically. A dialog box is displayed.

8.! Tap(OK(to(allow(the(account(information(to(go(to(outlook.com.(

The Incoming server settings are displayed.

9.! Scroll down to see the different settings.

Make sure the Server address is set to outlook.office365.com.

Make sure the Port is set to 443.

Make sure the Security type is set to SSL/TLS.

Tap the Next link at the bottom.

A dialog box is displayed.

10.!Tap the Ok link at the bottom to accept Remote security administration.

An activation message is displayed.

11.!Tap the Activate link at the bottom to activate device administration.

12.!If(desired,(edit(the(Account(name,(which(uses(your(email(address(by(default.(CITS(recommends(“UMassD(Office(365.”

Tap the Next link at the bottom.

13.!Account setup is complete. To customize your sync settings, and remove your Zimbra account, continue reading.

14.!By default, the Email, Calendar, and Contacts from your Office 365 account are synchronized with your phone. You can choose to turn on or off any combination of these. To do so, tap to open the hamburger menu.(

15.!Tap your account.

16.!Tap Manage accounts.

The Settings application opens, and Accounts is selected.

17.!Tap Exchange.

18.!Tap to select your account.

19.!The Sync settings are displayed.

Tap the sliders to disable or enable synchronization of your Calendar, Contacts and Mail.

Exit the Settings application when your changes are complete.

20.!To remove your Zimbra account from your device: •! Open your device Settings app. •! Scroll down to Accounts. •! Tap to select Exchange. •! Tap to select your Zimbra account.

Make sure that you select the correct account! Your Zimbra and Office 365 accounts may have similar names.

•! Tap the three dots button (…). •! Select Remove account. •! Tap Remove account again to confirm.
