BASIC KNOWLEDGE ABOUT WEB BROWSER

A web browser (commonly referred to as a browser) is a software application for

retrieving, presenting and traversing information resources on the World Wide

Web. An information resource is identified by a Uniform Resource Identifier (URI/URL)

and may be a web page, image, video or other piece of content. Hyperlinks present

in resources enable users easily to navigate their browsers to related

resources.

BENEFIT OF WEB BROWSER

Browsers are primarily intended to use the World Wide Web, but now they can also be used to access information provided

by web servers in private networks or files in file systems.The primary purpose of a web browser is to bring information

resources to the user ("retrieval" or "fetching"), allowing them to view the information ("display", "rendering"), and then access other information ("navigation", "following links").

This process begins when the user inputs a Uniform Resource Locator (URL), for example http://www.buruniv.ac.in/, into the

browser. The prefix of the URL, the Uniform Resource Identifier or URI, determines how the URL will be interpreted.

The most commonly used kind of URI starts with http: and identifies a resource to be retrieved over the Hypertext

Transfer Protocol (HTTP).

OBJECTIVE OF ‘CONNECT GLOBE’

1. BRING INFORMATION RESOURCE TO THE USER RETRIEVAL OR FETCHING.

2. ALLOWING THEM TO VIEW THE INFORMATION BY DISPLAY OR RENDERING.

3. ACCESS OTHER INFORMATION BY NAVIGATION OR FOLLOWING LINKS.

4. GIVE AN OVERALL VIEW OF A CONNECT GLOBE.

USER INTERFACE OF CONNECT GLOBE

1. “Prev” & “Next” buttons to go back to the previous resource and forward respectively.

2. “Refresh” or reload button to reload the current resource.3. “Stop” button to cancel loading the resource.4. “Home: button to return to the user’s home page.5. “Address Bar” to input the Uniform Resource Locator (URL) of the desired resource to display.6. “Status Bar” to display progress in loading the resource.7. “Viewport”, the visible area of the webpage within the “Browser” window. 8. “File Open” to open HTML, Image, CSS, JS files.9. “Music Player” to open Online Radio Music playing availability, with the option to “play”, “next”, “previous”, “pause”, “stop”. 10. “Print” button to print directly any webpage.11. “Save” button to save any webpage in your local file Systems.12. DATA SECURITY AND CONCLUSIONData Security and Privacy section is not yet validated in this project due to less short of time. This would be the future scope of the Project.

ConclusionThis project is small implementation of the whole procedure of present days Web Browsers. So, it is used in a small group of users where the system is less complicated. There is no provision for backup and restore database and we cannot work it over the network. This project has the provision for further scope development, as the situation has arrived. Due to the unavailability of time the project cannot be further extended.
