49th Annual Mahotsav Review was held at Brent Town Hall, Wembley
on Sunday 6th September 2009

The President started off the 49th Mahotsav around 1pm with the lighting of the devo to Shri Ganeshji asking for his blessings for the success of the Mahotsav. This was followed by the Prathana (Deva o Deva) and Swagat Geet - Ghorepani Ko Swagat. The Honorary President of the Mahotsav was introduced to the audience by Mahendra Jagmohan Gohil who spoke about the President’s life. The Vyakti Vishesh was then introduced by Bhanuben Ratilal Motiram and the Atithi Vishesh was introduced by his sister Hiral Hinesh Khatri.

A two minutes silence was observed, as we remembered those who passed away and prayed that their souls, rest in peace.
Indira R Kapadia and Bharat Vakharia read out good wishes and greetings from various Kshatriya Mandals around the world, as well as from relatives and well wishers for the Mahotsav to be a great success. The entertainment began with mix dances Dance Pe Chance, Marjani Marjani, Desi Girl followed by Dance Marjani Marjani and Dance Pe Chance. Donation Appeal, was next. Pyara Kanaiya was the next item followed by an Open Speech Session.
Baawre a dance was followed by a Desi Mix, Ghazab, Dance Pe Chance, Jai Ho dance and then a Garbo Bole Chhe Jina Jina more
A Floral presentation was then made to the honorary President, Vyakti Vishesh and Atithi Vishesh. Next was the retirement floral presentation. The dignitaries then gave short speeches expressing their views and thoughts. Academic and sports presentations were awarded to those who reached the mark. Gift vouchers were presented to all those who participated in the performances. SKA President thanked all those involved to make this a successful Mahotsav.
The new Committee Election was announced. This was followed by a surprise item Mix Dance – Return of the Legends, performed by thirty family members of the honorary President, Vyathi Vishesh and Athiti Vishesh.
Then came a Rass - Hey Naam Re Sab Se Bada Tera Naam followd by a Live Musical Instrumental. Then a dance - A tribute to Michael Jackson.

Finally the Indian National Anthem was sung to end the entertainment segment of the day…but NOT the evening. The bar was open to quench the thirst that had built up during the day. The buffet dinner was then served. The very successful day ended at about 9pm. SKA would like to thank each and every individual for their help in making this Mahotsav a huge success.

50th Mahotsav
President
SKA proudly announces that next year’s on the 50th Mahotsav will be
held under the honorary Presidentship of Mr Anil Mohanlal Hazratwala.
An announcement of a potential date, 1st August 2010 and the Venue was made at
this year’s Mahotsav. However due to number of weddings and reception parties occurring in our community next year, in
particular for the month of August 2010 the announced date will have to change.
The preferred venue, the Grand Hall at Wembley Stadium cannot be confirmed or guaranteed, as major events have
priority. Wembley have advised us that a date can be confirmed once their calander
for events is fixed in the early part of 2010.
To ensure that the 50th Mahotsav can still
be celebrated in a Grand Venue, as announced during this year’s Mohatsav,
alternative venues have been sought as well. The announcement of the date and venue will be made in the coming months.
If anyone in the community has a wedding or any other event in their family
in the month of September, October then please contact either Sudhir Dayaram Khatri or Bhavin Shantilal Khatri.
50th Mahotsav
Sub-Committee As agreed in the 2008 AGM a sub
committee was formed in December 2008 to prepare for the 50th Mahotsav. They have been busy looking at various
venues, caterers, compiling a list and then selecting the Mahotsav Pramukh.
SKA would like to thank them all for their effort in ensuring that the 50th Mahotsav will be celebrated in style and at an

Navratri 2009 was at The Sports Hall, Queens Park Community School
The event was held over six days – Saturday 19th, Sunday 20th , Friday 25th, Saturday 26th, Sunday 27th September and Poonam on Sunday 4th October 2009. Most days were
well attended. The Garbas were enjoyed by young and old as they danced the evenings away. As always the vocalists and musicians made all this more enjoyable. A big thank you to all.

Annual General Meeting (The AGM)
was held on Sunday 11 October 2009 at the SKA Hall from 4pm to 7pm.
The agenda was: 1. Last year’s AGM Minutes were approved. 2. Accounts ending 31st March 2009 were approved 3. Appointment of New Auditors approved 4. Any Other Matters discussed included - 50th Mahotsav event, cost & venues looked into. details will be on the website. About 65 members attended. The event ended at around 6.30 pm thereafter, refreshments were served.
Social Evening
Social Evening is back. It will be held on Friday 7th November with hot tasty food and drinks. You will need to let Bharat Vakharia know by 5th November so the appropriate amount of food is prepared. There will be an additional charge of £5 per person for the food on the day for those who had not informed him beforehand. From now on a maximum of 75 people will be allowed. Children’s Christmas
Party For the children, this year’s Christmas party is to be held at the SKA Community Hall on
Sunday 13th December 2009 from 3 - 6pm.
All children are requested to attend the fun, games and entertainment. All parents are urged to bring their children so as not to disappoint them. This event is for children under 12 years of age. To avoid the hall getting crowded,
parents are requested to drop their children and collect them at 6pm.
