SUMMER FAMILY CAMP last June 5-7, 2015 at Birkedal Lejren, Undløse, Tølløse. God has blessed us tremendously. Many had said that it was the “Best Camp Ever”. Glory to God!

Oslo & other missions. A future small group in Russia with Sis. Jilly Suguitan. Strength -Damasco family especially for Joanna and Jeffrey upon the loss of their parents; Health: for members, Physical condition: people suffering of autism; CBMBC Ministries & Leaders – wisdom.. Supported Missions – Growth. Revival & Spiritual Awakening. Jobs – for unemployed. More laborers for the harvest. Salvation of the unsaved relatives of the members. Protection & provision of our supported missions & missionaries. SAFE travel of members to and from their workplace especially in the night shifts. Church Monthly Budget – will be met. Sis. Steps to Spiritual Renewal Series: A Time to Build: Lessons from Nehemiah

Summary: The first myth is that the Bible is too confusing to read. In verses 1-8, we’ll see that the Bible, instead of being confusing, is actually a book that you and I can comprehend ¬ You can understand it!

Here are three that come to mind:

• It’s too confusing to read • It’s too boring to study • It’s impossible to apply

I. You Can Understand It - Nehemiah 8:1 Ezra 7:10 Nehemiah 8:7-18

Misconception #1 is that the Bible is too confusing to read. verses 1-8 is that the Bible is designed to be understood.

4 hints to help you better comprehend the Word of God.

1) Be attentive during the preaching time. 2) Read the passage I will be speaking on during the week. 3) Bring your Bible and follow along. 4) Take notes.

II. You Can Rejoice In It.

Myth #2 is that the Bible is too boring to study. The truth of the matter is that you can rejoice in it! We see this in verses 9-12.

III. You Can Obey It. James 1:22-25

3 action steps that will help you develop an application orientation to the Word of God. 1) Pray and ask God for personal transformation as you read and understand the Bible. 2) Avoid the temptation to just “study” the Bible, compiling information as if that’s the only goal. 3) Ask someone to help hold you accountable.

Two Invitations: 1) Proclamation and preaching of the Word, 2) Responsive mobilization of God’s people
