himself out of too many plays. Average change of direction to turn corner. Canadian. 3-4 outside rusher. 6024, 257. #61 Michale Spicer DE Western Carolina – Free agent. Good use of hands. Quick to shed blocker in 1 on 1 drills. Good leverage and punch. Undersized and got engulfed at times. May be a 3-4 outside rusher. Gets pushed around pile on rush. 6016, 255, long arms. #91 Brandon Calton DT East Tennessee State – Draft 6th/7th round. Good effort player. Lacks big thick butt and thighs. Quick first step. Better than average lateral quickness. Had a caused fumble in game. Was beat by #4 Crenshaw. #44 Andrew Battle DE Indiana (PA) – Late draft/priority free agent. Has sudden edge speed. Undersized. May project to an outside linebacker. He needs to develop moves to change up on the OT. 3-4 outside edge rusher. #77 Cole Bean OG Catawba – Free agent, short in stature with short arms. Battler/mauler type. Tries to muscle defender. That isn’t going to happen the next level. Scrappy undersized OG with limited ability. #42 Damian Birch DE Fairmont State – Free agent, did not run. Had a left knee strain. 3-4 outside edge rusher. #40 Toure Carter DC Ashland – Camp player at best. Undersized corner who returns punts and kickoffs. Smart heady player who should contribute on special teams. #7 Will Hall QB North Alabama – Not a prospect, lacks height/weight/ and speed for position. Lacks arm strength. Great intangibles. Will use quick inside move.

#96 Ken Veal DT Georgia – Late draft/priority free agent. Undersized. Good effort player with short arms. Always drew a double team. Pushed the pocket. When he got high he got driven by #74 Scott. Made an excellent play on the LOS when he shed #63 and made a tackle for no gain. Explosive on bull rush at times. Has a tougher time with players his size. #99 Cal Colas DE Virginia Tech – Free agent. Undersized. Knows how to leverage OT’s and gets them on skates at times. Must project to an outside linebacker. He must beat you with his first move. Small player that must be in a special scheme.

Cutback runner with good running instincts. Catches the ball in his hands. Has quickness to the hole. Undersized for being an effective blocker. Senior Bowl Quarterbacks Philip Rivers North Carolina State – 6047, 226, 1st round. May be the top QB in draft. Top competitor. Buys time with his feet. He keeps the play alive. Good accuracy. Smart and a good leader. Took charge in practice. ACC player of the year. MVP in 4 bowl games. Gunned seam route in for TD. Excellent game manager with a quick release. Loves the game and plays like it. Makes good decisions. Smooth efficient rhythm passer. Made a great adjustment to receivers in game. His timing was on in practice and in the game. Excellent poise. Performed under game pressure. Good judgment and field vision. Clutch player that delivered big plays and displayed confidence. Defensive recognition was excellent. Pre snap reads took him to his receiver immediately. (Limited coverages made his job easy. He looked like a surgeon slicing up the secondary). Has a quick set up and release from center. Has good pocket presence and feel. Outstanding delivery quickness. Has a quick and live arm. Excellent anticipation and timing. Has has good eyes for the field. Has the arm strength to make all the throws to win games. Can stretch a secondary deep or make all the medium and short touch passes. Can put the ball through the window of defense. Can adjust throw and vary delivery. Both velocity and trajectory. Don’t worry about delivery – he shows you the baby. Has a lot of Brett Favre in him. Played in the shot gun in college. Made a good adjustment to take snap directly from under center. He gets the ball there in time. Has excellent ball placement. Has outstanding poise to wait until the last second and guns ball in there. Has outstanding field awareness and can shred a blitz. He demonstrates coverage and poise to throw the ball into tight spots. He does an excellent job of working the pocket when it is collapsing around him. He competes. Knows and understands the game. He gives the receivers a chance to run after catch by his accuracy and ball placement. Keep in mind Dan Marino’s delivery wasn’t pretty. J.P. Losman Tulane – 6022, 217, late 1st round. Quick set up. Accurate in short and medium pass routes. Throws into coverage despite his intelligence. He appears to make most of his mistakes when he’s heavily rushed. Has limited mobility. Most of success is with the short dink and dunk passes. Good on screens. Lacks long accuracy. Backup type quarterback.

Johnnie Morant Syracuse – 6040, 225, late draft because of size. Short stepper. Big upright receiver that is inconsistent and plays too angular. Hands are inconsistent. Explosive first step quickness. Shoots the gap. If he doesn’t make play he gets bounced around. When he gets double teamed he gets rolled out because he doesn’t stay low. No anchor to stack play on line of scrimmage. Disruptive player when he beats first blocker. Good athlete. Could be special in certain defensive schemes. If he doesn’t make the play, he leaves a big hole. Tommy Kelly Mississippi State – 6057, 302, Low draft. Passes eyeball test. Looks the part. Appears to lack instincts, awareness, and desire to play as an everydown player. Flash guy – boom or bust. Has good initial quickness. Gets hands up on pass rush. Better player tackle to tackle. Gets velcroed to offensive tackles. When he wants to bring it he is sudden. Not a hell bent for leather player in pursuit. May be better at DT if he shows some fight. Looks like he’s playing to do everyone a favor. Chad Lavalais LSU – 6015, 293, Draft 3rd/4th round. size may push him to 4th round. Understands leverage. Inside war horse. Quick first step. Pushes the pocket. Good effort player. Gets hands up on pass rush. Good agility in traffic. Fills the running lanes. Finishes play downfield. Has a burst to QB. Plays with good leverage. Can drive center back to QB at times. Sudden initial quickness. Always on the move. Great effort and pressure. High motor emotional player. Works from start to finish. Rodney Leisle UCLA – 6030, 302, Draft 4th/5th round. Inside push guy. Good lateral quickness. Gets driven out of hole when he plays too high. Aggressive player that has an upfield burst. Can be disruptive inside. Finished long and short pursuit. Active player. Big hands and short arms. Best when playing on the edge of a blocker. Gets wired to blocker at times because of short arms. Bobby McCray Florida – 6054, 252, Draft 6th/7th round developmental project. Gets stuck and manhandled on blocks. Slow off ball. Makes a play when he’s not blocked. Slow twitch guy. He can be hammered the whole game than come up with a sack by accident. Usually not blocked. Looks the part and is athletic.

Active undersized outside linebacker that can’t play over a tight end because of size and strength. Has sideline to sideline speed. Can close on ball carrier. Explosive hitter at times. Linebackers – South Michael Boulware Florida State – 6020, 223, Draft 2nd round. Active, speedy, athletic linebacker that can hit and make plays. Good instincts. Finishes play. All over the field. Can run and cover backs and wide receivers. Will never have to come off the field.
