APICS, the Association for Operations Management, is respected throughout the world for its

educational and professional certification programs. Their certificates are recognized worldwide

as the standard of professional competence in production and inventory

control, supply chain management, and enterprise operations management.

APICS offers three internationally recognized certification programs: BSCM,

CPIM & CSCP.

The Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) program

was developed by APICS in 1973 to provide a common basis for individuals

to assess their knowledge and understanding of the principles and practi-

ces in the field of production and inventory management. It also offers in-depth education on

concepts, tools, terminology and techniques which you can use within the internal operations of

your company.

The CPIM designation is a highly regarded industry certification that

demonstrates your initiative to excel and your commitment to acquire the

most current industry knowledge and skills. It will help you to enhance

your on-the-job performance, that’s why so many employers consider it as

a desired qualification for new hires. More than 95 000 professionals have

become certified worldwide, including more than 1200 in Belgium.

A CPIM education is essential for professionals involved in:

> Production and inventory management

> Operations

> Supply chain management

> Procurement

> Materials management

> Purchasing

Why CPIM Certification?

The APICS Certified in Production and

Inventory Management (CPIM) certification

is known around the world as the standard

Basics of Supply Chain Management

The APICS CPIM program provides Operations Management professionals with relevant, essential

education that equips them for today’s marketplace. The focus and value is on expanding your

knowledge and furthering your professional growth – not solely on passing certification exams.

The most important component is the learning experience that occurs while preparing for exami-

nations.

Just as successful companies have adapted to the

changing business environment, the CPIM program

has changed over the years to keep up with cur-

rent knowledge and practices such as lean, service

industries, globalization, theory of constraints, project

management, outsourcing, critical chain, and new

approaches in quality management.

Cim_Cil regularly organizes APICS information ses-

sions to give you the opportunity to learn more

about the APICS programs, the certification process in

Belgium and the several methods and courses to prepare for examinations. It is an ideal opportu-

nity to browse the study material, take a test exam and get personal assistance of our professional

staff.

The Cim_Cil website is continually updated to provide you with the latest information about exam

dates, course schedules, recommended books and information sessions. To ensure that you receive

a personal notification as soon as new information becomes available, add your email-address to

our CPIM reminder list on www.cimcil.be.

In the following pages you will find a detailed description of the CPIM program, courses, study

material and certification process.
