TWAIN Compatible and Non-TWAIN Compatible are two types of Document Scanners supported by PrognoCIS.
Following is the list of TWAIN Compatible, One Touch Scanners that are supported for scanning documents directly into the EMR system:
Fujitsu
Brother
HP
Canon
Epson
Note: All the scanners mentioned in the list must be Twain compatible and the scanners own scanning software must be installed.
For example- if you have Fujitsu scanner then Fujitsu’s own scanning software called “ScandAll Pro/Paper Stream” must be installed on the local computer.
Following is the list of non-TWAIN Compatible scanners that require files to be manually attached:
Fujitsu Scan Snap series
HP
Dell
Brother
Epson
Canon
Xerox
Note: For a non-TWAIN compatible scanner, the scanner should be configured in such a way that the scanned file is saved in a specific folder locally (i.e. in a local computer). PrognoCIS installs its own FTP utility in the local computer and moves the file from the local folder to a server on Cloud; the documents are then required to be attached manually.

- Windows Fax Service (Windows 7 and above – 32 bit),
- Fax Modem
- A dedicated telephone line connected to it. The same telephone line which is connected to fax machine can be used to connect to the computer by using a splitter i.e. two telephone chords from the splitter; one would be connected to the fax machine and the other to a computer. This is required for faxing documents out and receiving faxes directly on computer.
ii. FaxMan © based Fax solution:
One machine (Ideally a non-user machine so that the user is not disturbed) which has:
- Windows 7 and above-32 bit/64 bit
- Two separate Fax Modem for sending and receiving faxes
- A dedicated telephone line connected to it. The same telephone line which is connected to fax machine can be used to connect to the computer by using a splitter. This is required for faxing documents out. If clinic wants to also receive faxes directly on computer on the same machine it will need Windows fax service and additional Fax modem.
Note: If the fax volume is higher, separate fax lines for incoming and outgoing fax lines are recommended to avoid fax failures due to busy line.
