Service Information:

When? 3rd June - 18th July 2019

What’s happening in Area 2?

Work will take place from Shalesmoor towards

Hillsborough. The BL2 service will operate between

Malin Bridge and Shalesmoor*. The SL1 and SL1a

from Stockbridge will continue from Middlewood to

Sheffield City Centre via Hillsborough Interchange and

Shalesmoor meaning that SL1 and SL1a customers will

not have to change onto replacement buses and can

change onto trams at Fitzalan Square.

Replacement buses will operate every 12-20 minutes

(depending on time of day) until around 8pm, Monday

to Saturday and around every 20 minutes on Sunday

until around 6pm. Outside of these times (after around

8pm Monday to Saturday and after around 6pm

Sunday) buses will operate less frequently reflecting the

customer demand and not all tram services will directly

connect with a replacement bus service.

* The BL2 will operate to Fitzalan Square in the evenings

Ticket information

Tickets can be bought as usual from Supertram

conductors or from SL1, SL1a and BL2 bus drivers.

For most journeys, there are existing bus routes that offer

additional travel options. Customers with a tram only

ticket will be able to use Stagecoach buses that serve the

affected routes between the City Centre and Hillsborough

at no extra cost (please see page 4/5).

Where an alternative bus option is not operated by

Stagecoach, a Travelmaster CityWide or Getabout child

ticket will allow travel across trams and any bus in Sheffield.

Please note that on the SL1 and SL1a, only tram tickets

are valid between Middlewood and City Centre. Bus only

tickets will not be accepted on this extension of the route.

Replacement bus: Middlewood - Fitzalan Square

* Shalesmoor evenings and Sundays

For the duration of this year’s works,

both Malin Bridge and Middlewood

P&R will remain open and be offering

free parking, just pay for your travel.

* After stopping at Middlewood the SL1/a will continue to Hillsborough and on to Fitzalan Square.
