SUMMARY A GLOBAL PROBLEM

"Governments think it is an African problem and say 'Why?'. But they are wrong, because it is a problem that is in all countries," he said on a question which, according to UN estimates, affects daily about 8,000 girls. In addition, ablation is practiced openly in 28 African, Arab and Asian countries, but due to emigration, also affects Europe, the U.S. or Canada. In addition, over 2,000 children die every day from infections following this practice, as told in the film, made for women "are clean."

By Waris Dirie, author of four books and his life was reflected in a BBC documentary entitled 'A nomad in New York'. "We must understand that FGM has nothing to do with tradition, culture or religion. It is a form of child abuse," said more than once activist.Dirie When asked where he got the courage to continue his life, before achieving success, he replied that "everybody, difficult circumstances, finds the strength to move forward." "We all do every day," he said, adding he does not know whether there is "something called courage."

.

"AMONG WOMEN, we are convinced"

On how to convince an end to the ablation in the world, Dirie said she could convince her mother, who forgave and which bears no grudge. "She makes detective in my village. If my mother could, we, as women we are convinced," he said.
