I will be collecting Community Service logs on Tuesday, Dec 11th (goal is to have 10 hours!)

First draft of your Apply Texas essay is due Thursday, Dec 13th (but feel free to turn it in earlier if you want!)

Last day to take practice ACT is this Saturday, December 8th @ 8am

Remember: class is 90 minutes. If you have a valid reason for leaving early, let me know before class starts. Otherwise, plan to stick around.

What: Party for friends, family, and residents at the Buckner Villas retirement home

When: Friday, December 7th, 6 pm-9:30 pm

Where: 11110 Tom Adams Drive, The Campbell Harbor & Meadows

Volunteers can help with food, drinks, set-up, visiting with the residents, kids’ craft table

Free buffet dinner provided to volunteers

When: Saturday, December 8th, 8:30 am-11 am

Where: St. Vincent de Paul Auditorium, Seton Administration Office Building, 1345 Philomena Street

Volunteers can help with set-up/clean-up, food distribution, arts and crafts, and the Santa line.

2. When describing what you did in a club/job, consider the impact you had, how you did it, and any numerical stats

3. When you’re listing skills, make sure you can back them up with something concrete. Be as specific as possible.

NO: Good communication skills.

YES: Good communication skills developed through 50 years of experience as an international spy.

Remember, this is a BASELINE test. It’s essentially just a starting point so that I can see what areas we should focus on, so if you’re not happy with your score, keep in mind that it’s very likely to go up after we do more ACT review next semester.
