A typical design consulta�on takes two tothree hours and costs $400 including thesession’s conclusions. Addi�onal consul�ng�me is offered at our normal hourly rates.

Travel �me within Greater Auckland is free.For loca�ons outside this area, travelcharges can be nego�ated in advance.With appropriate photographs anddocumenta�on, the consulta�on may beconducted at our office. Many out-of-townclients have taken advantage of this op�on.

If you aren’t completely sa�sfied with thedesign consulta�on during the first hour,you may stop the consulta�on at that �mewithout charge.

Scheduling the ConsultationWhen you're ready to schedule yourdesign consulta�on, just contact ouroffice. Design consulta�ons are typicallyscheduled in the late a�ernoon. This iswhen there is the least risk fordisturbances due to ac�ve construc�on.

Think of a design consulta�on as ahouse call: we visit your home, discussand sketch possibili�es, and answerbasic ques�ons about costs andconstruc�on alterna�ves for your newhome, or for your proposed renova�ons.

Together we can explore placement of anew home or extension, sculp�ng ofawkward spaces or facades, correctbalance, composi�on, and add visualinterest. We can even recommend howto avoid some common mistakes.

Most conceptual possibili�es areexplored during the design consulta�on.Depending on the project’s complexityand the available documenta�on, someconsulta�ons may take longer.

A�er the consulta�on, a le�er maydocument the results and conclusions ofthe design consulta�on. The designconsulta�on is a “stand alone” service.You are not required to retain us for thedura�on of your par�cular project. Insome cases, the consulta�on will be allthe architectural services required.Subsequent architectural services, ifneeded, can be discussed and reviewedduring the design consulta�on.
