THE INEXPRESSIBLE MYSTERY. The God of the universe is mysterious. Science has not been able to solve the mystery of how the universe came into being or explain exactly what continues to give it creative energy and masterful design. No religion asserts that it has found
words to name fully the ineffable mystery of God, for no matter what name we use, God always transcends our limited ability to understand. God is a mystery to be believed, not known. And yet, we Christians believe that our name for God best expresses that inexpressible mystery: God is the Most Holy Trinity of three persons united in a communion of love, pouring forth that creative, saving, sanctifying love into the world. Today’s scriptures celebrate the mystery of the Trinity and give us clues for living that mystery in our lives.
Today is the Most Holy Trinity

Understanding the Trinity
God is one, and yet He is also three. How do we wrap our heads around this deeply mysterious concept of the Trinity? Dr Hahn sets theoretical theological language aside as he explains the Trinity in terms that can be understood by ordinary Catholics. Dr.
Scott Hahn uses familiarity with family life to bring us to a deeper understanding of the Holy Trinity, and thereby a better understanding of ourselves and the Church. This presentation effectively illustrates how the "Good News" of salvation is not only being saved from our sins through the Cross of Christ, but an invitation to become and live as adopted sons and daughters of the Triune God.
(CDs & Books can be found in the Vollkommer Bell Tower).
Please Keep in Your Prayers
Catholic Charities of the Midlands is very grateful for the many donations of plastic bags! Thank you! We do not need any additional plastic bags at this time, but are looking to collect the following items to help our homeless clients this summer: Men's t-shirts (sizes large, x-large, and 2x are especially needed) and Men's
underwear (sizes medium and large especially needed), Baseball hats. Donations may be left in the middle drawer (right side) of the wooden shelf in Vollkommer Tower. Tax receipts are available by contacting Cathy Hood-Pittenger at 803.945.4449 or [email protected].
Christians of the Holy Land
On June 17/18, 2017 we welcome our guest speaker from Bethlehem, Mr. Rami Qumsieh, who will speak at all the Masses on the topic of the Christian identity of our Holy Land. Rami is an accomplished speaker having presented at hundreds of parishes. He is also a member of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, a Papal Order. The Christian situation in the Holy Land is dire. What used to be a strong and vibrant 30% of the population has dropped down below 2%. There are several factors involved, not the least of which is economics. Traditionally, the Christian community relied on the services offered for pilgrims as a main source of income for the community, who in turn conduct commerce with each other. Olive wood items/carvings represent the only tangible product they produce and can export. Christians of the Holy Land graciously asks your support through conscience prayers and the purchase of these special religious art pieces. Items range in price from $5 to a few hundred and include rosaries, crosses, icons and statues. Proceeds of the sales generate much needed employment and cash flow for our Christian community in Bethlehem. Checks, cash and credit cards will be accepted. May God Bless you for your generosity, for your help, and for your prayers!
