Pastor’s Letter November 2019Reformation/All Saints’

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

During the next two Sundays, we celebrate ourfreedom in the Gospel, “The Good News” and thecontinued reformation of the church. Yes, wecelebrate our Lutheran heritage. I am proud of it,for in it we remember the center of our faith,Jesus Christ and God’s love for us in his life,death, resurrection and teachings! “Love oneanother as He loves us first”. We remember thisin the proclamation of the Word and celebration ofthe Sacraments each and every Lord’s day. Thisis the way I love to see you, greet you and serveyou at the Lord’s table each Sunday.

Luther calls us back to the basics. We arejustified by faith in Christ. Christ make us rightwith God. It is what he has done on the cross. Now, we are called to respond in faith, in lives of faith and commitment, as the communion ofsaints. Yes, we celebrate the communion ofSaints of which we are part of! We will rememberthose blessed saints and all those who passed,especially this past this year those special to youwho have passed the faith on to us.

Now, as we move into the season ofThanksgiving, let us live as a thankful people andshare God’s blessings. Be good stewards andsupport the work of the Lord’s church at OurRedeemer and abroad and I thank you for thatsupport. This is the Lord’s church. It is yourchurch!

Our Bake table is always appreciative ofdonations of HOMEMADE cookies for ourCOOKIE WALK.

Can you please help by dropping it off onFriday, December 6th after 12:00 PM or earlymorning on December 7th in the Parish Hall.

We are also hopeful that any CRAFTERSwho weren't able to make it on Mondays areable to donate some homemade crafts.

CHRISTMAS FAIR DEC. 7, 2019

The elves have been working all yeartoward the Christmas Fair, Sat. Dec. 7,2019. That date is not too far off. We wouldespecially appreciate donations of cookiesfor the Cookie Walk. We can always useyour help at Fair time to assist in setting up,selling and taking down. Monday NightCrafters meet on Mondays at 7:30 pm inthe gym. Come join us!

CONFIRMATION YOUTH RETREAT AND HAUNTED HOUSE

THANKSGIVING BASKETS

This year we are collecting food for the hungry people in Nassau County. We have set a goal of30 food baskets to distribute to the poor. In order to meet our goals, we will be collecting foodfrom all members of the congregation (not just Sunday School).

On Sunday, November 3rd & 10th (or before) we are asking each family to bring one or moreitems for the food baskets. During Communion we will bring our contributions up to the altar.Please be a part of our family helping other families. Together we can make a difference.

The following is a list of the food we will need to put in ONE basket:
