Acquisitions

Bring invoices that list titles purchased during the last 2 months; monographs, AV, etc., to create firm orders. If none available, create an example to bring.

Bring titles of serials or periodicals to create order records for subscriptions. Bring titles of standing orders to create order records. Bring Barcodes to create items when receiving.

Cataloging

Bring new titles to catalog in training (you can make copies of title page and verso and bring that to training)

OCLC Connexion: If you use the web version, bring your URL, username and password. If you can, bring a small MARC records file with records created in the past two months,

to do a batch load. Bring unused barcodes to create item records – 10 barcodes per attendee To practice interactive cataloging with OCLC, please configure your OCLC cataloging account

before the cataloging session.

ParkingUCF: There are kiosks all over the place to buy daily permits if you don’t want to go to the visitor’s center, though that is an easy way to go (and it’s close to the library). If you shoot for getting here by 8:00, you should have no problem navigating the parking lots and garages. Garage A is a favorite because you can drive right into it as you enter campus on University Blvd. and easy to exit at the end of the day. Address and DirectionsUNF, Bldg. 12, Thomas G. Carpenter Library, Room 2102B.  We have turnstiles at the library entrance and all visitors must present an ID card, i.e., driver’s license and sign in. 

From I-95 (North of Jacksonville): Take I-95 South. Merge onto I-295 N. Exit at the UNF / St. Johns Town Center exit. Stay in your right-hand lane and merge right into the campus.

From I-95 (South of Jacksonville): Take I-95 North. Exit right onto I-295 E (Jax Beaches). Continue on I-295, which will turn into I- 295 N - East Beltway.   UNF is approximately 9 miles ahead and on the right (past J Turner Butler Blvd). Exit to your right to merge onto UNF Drive.

From I-10 (Eastbound): Take I-10 East to I-95 South. Merge onto J Turner Butler Blvd E (SR-202) via exit #344. Turn left at the fork in the ramp (north). Take JTB to Kernan Blvd and exit right. Merge left onto Kernan Blvd and UNF is at the second light. Turn left into the campus.

From Jacksonville International Airport: Follow signals to airport exit. Stay in the right lane and take I-95 South. Take exit 362A at I-295 toward Blount Island. Continue on I-295 S (West Beltway) and exit to your right at the UNF exit. Approximately 15 miles. Stay in your left-hand lane and turn left at the light to enter the UNF campus.

ParkingWe will purchase trainer parking passes. The trainers and trainees can pick up their parking passes at Parking Services. The Parking Services booth is located at the I295 entrance to UNF.
