Dr. Sakalkar has performed in the most prestigious Music festivals across the country and has composed music for various National & International Films & Musical documentaries. She recently composed Music for the Indo-Australian Musical Documentary "Lights Across the Seas", receiving wide appreciation across the world. and has been acclaimed world over.
Revati’s album on world music "1 Giant Leap" got double Grammy Nominations. She has won numerous other awards and accolades. She also gives regular programs on Doordarshan and All India Radio."

Music has flown in her veins since birth and she exhibited this gift right from early childhood. She learnt Music in the discipline of Benaras Gharana from great Maestros like Pt. Hanuman Mishra, Padma Vibhushan Girija Devi, Smt. Manju Sundaram, Smt. Poornima Chowdhary, Pt. Mohan Mishra and Pt. Rajeshwara Prasad Mishra. She further took formal education in the field of Music from BHU and did double Ph.D in Music, one of them on Music Therapy.
Revati’s unique research on "Role of Music in Treatment of Pshychosomatic Diseases" h a s b e e n w i d e l y r e c o g n i z e d a n d appreciated. Her Music Therapy sessions have greatly helped many patients suffering from diseases like Hypertension, Diabetes, Anxiety & Insomnia etc.

‘Lights Across the Sea’ is a cross cultural musical
documentary film that traverses the story and creativity of
three renowned artists: William Eicholtz – the Sculptor &
Louise Rippert – the Abstract Artist from Australia and
Revati Sakalkar – the Classical Singer from India, who
meet in the City of Lights – Varanasi and unleash their
creativity to create the best masterpieces of their respective
fields. It depicts that although we may come from different
countries and diverse cultures but are bound together with
a common chord of humanity and universal brotherhood.
