The Dräger REGARD 3910 is a modular control panel for cabinet construction, based upon the Dräger REGARD 3900.Multiple systems can be installed into new or existing cabinetsproviding a unique solution to gas detection control.

With a panel mounted display and newbackplane, to allow the input and outputcards to be installed into a cabinet, theREGARD 3910 is a flexible and expandableoption for the gas detection control market.

The Dräger REGARD 3910 allows themounting of multiple systems into onecontrol panel. Each system is controlledby a display board which can operate amixture of up to four input and outputboards. In addition, two repeat 4-20 mAboards can also be installed. As each system works independently there is nolimit as to how many system are utilised.

Each control system is fully configurablebetween 1 and 16 channels, dependingupon the type and quantity of input andoutput boards installed.

Developed with an innovative modulardesign, this allows the entire system tobe suitable for the most stringent ofbudgets. With the flexibility of the systemthis allows changes and upgrades toaccommodate with ease any plant expansions that are made.

ANALOGUE INPUT BOARD

Each analog input board caters for one tofour, 2 or 3 wire, 4 to 20 mA transmitters.Each transmitter connects to dedicatedfield terminals. Up to a total of four analogue input boards can be installed into a single Dräger REGARD 3910, thusgiving a maximum input count of sixteentransmitters. Each individual input boardis populated with three relays. Theserelays offer common Fault, Alarm 1 andAlarm 2 SPCO outputs. The two alarm levels are fully configurable and be set asrising or falling, latching or non-latching.To differentiate between each input boarda simple mechanical link is required.

RELAY OUTPUT BOARD

Each relay output board is populated witheight additional SPCO relays. Relay 1 oneach relay board is a dedicated Fault relayand cannot be reconfigured. The remaining seven relays can be configuredas Single, Common, Voting, Inhibit orNon-operational. An additional Alarm 3level is offered by the relay board alongwith a second Fault threshold. Latching/Non Latching and NormallyEnergised/Energised on alarm. Alarmrelays are acknowledged via the push button located on the front panel of the instrument housing. A maximum of tworelay boards can be installed in a singleDräger REGARD 3910 control system.

REPEAT BOARD

Each 4-20mA output board repeats thesignal of up to eight inputs. This allows

indication or recording of gas levels byother units. A maximum of two analogueoutput boards can be installed in a singleDräger REGARD 3910 control system.

SYSTEM CONFIGURATION

The Dräger REGARD 3910 is fully configurable via a Laptop PC. The configuration software, Config 3900,allows quick and easy set-up. For newinstallations the configuration can be

performed off-line and then uploaded during commissioning. Or during a Serviceroutine, the system configuration can bedownloaded from the Dräger REGARD3910 to the PC for verification. All calibration routines, zero and span areperformed using the Config 3900 configuration software. A simple interfacecable is required to connect the PC to theDräger REGARD 3910 control unit.
