Kenya Horticulture – Export vegetables

The horticultural industry is the fastest growing agricultural sub sector in the country, and contributes 23% of GDP and the first foreign exchange earner. The sector has shown a steady increase of between 15 – 20 percent over the last decade

French beans, snow & snap peas, Asian vegetables (Such as karella, chillies, aubergines and okra) dominate the export list.

The sector is controlled by the private sector, incorporating large and small-scale farmers and exporters across the nation.
