Superintendent’s Corner We are all ready to get back to normal! I have heard that we will never go back to nor-mal, I disagree. We have a thing called the Constitution, and as long as it’s around we can have freedom and all the rights we deserve. It’s been a very weird time for sure, but here at the course I feel insulated from most of the craziness. Blowout will be here soon and I’m super excited for it and all of the events to follow. Our next employee spotlight shines on David Wilson. David came to work here in March of 2018. We aerified his first two days working here, I bet he thought this was the worst job ever. From his first day until now, David has always given 110%. Sometimes I have to tell him to slow down a little so he doesn’t overheat and get sick. The guys nick-named him Ox because he is as strong as one. Once again for those of you scoring at home, we have Crazyeys, Lightnin’, and Ox. David has a major disability, he is Danny Mercer’s son-in-law! David was born in Oswego, NY, and he has one sister. He is married to Amanda and they have two lovely daughters, ages 16 and 7. He went to school at the Oklahoma School for The Deaf in Sulphur. He has lived in Duncan the majority of his life. David worked at Wal-Mart for a while and has also worked for Webbs Limb & Tree Removal. We are glad he finally made his way here to help us. If he doesn’t do a job out here it’s only because he hasn’t been trained on it yet. You will often see him rolling greens, changing cups, edging greens, fixing irrigation, raking bunkers, mowing fairways, and tree work. Since some of you are at home bored, why not learn some sign language and come out so you can have a wonderful conversation with David. I tell myself I am get-ting better, but I actually think it’s just David getting better at my half attempts to say words. I thought it would be easier, but it’s a language all to itself. It’s not English con-verted into sign. The nouns and verbs are moved around so it’s harder than I thought. Come out and say hi when you get a chance. We are lucky have him here. In closing I want to thank all the Members for your continued support of “OUR” club. I know some have lost jobs or lost some pay and it’s hard to balance priorities right now. Thank you for making us a priority. We are trying our hardest to put out a great product day in and day out. Thank you!! See you out there!! Daniel Mills, GCS
