A Sufi Path of Spiritual Liberty

Der Inayati-OrdenIf anybody asks you, “What is Sufism?” ...

you may answer: “Sufism is the religion of the heart, the religion in which the most important thing is

to seek God in the heart of humanity.”

H A Z R A T I N A Y A T K H A N

The heart is the wellspring of our deepest motivations, a container for love. The goal of Sufism is to develop the capacity of the heart – the capacity to hold all the complexities of life in a matrix of love – and to discover the divinity inherent in all of creation.

Sufism is not a religion in the sense of being a system of beliefs, separable from other religions, but a school of experience focused on the cultivation of the heart and the deepening of awareness through the practice of prayer, meditation and spiritual inquiry.

The only constant in this world is change. Forms are born and die. Nothing that has lived,

however, is ever truly lost; life continues and advances in further modes. The way of Sufi alchemy is to die

before death and foretaste the hereafter here and now. In this springtime retreat, through the exploration of

breath and the subtle body we will peer through the veil to discern the true meaning of longevity.

P I R Z I A I N A Y A T - K H A N

P I R Z I A I N A Y A T - K H A N will explore with us our human and our divine potential as expressed through the teachings of his grandfather, Hazrat Pir-o-Murshid Inayat Khan, spiritual teacher, renowned Indian musician and founder of the Sufi Order International (now named The Inayati-Order after the founder), and the teachings of his father, spiritual teacher Hazrat Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan. W W W . P I R Z I A . O R G

I S C H T A R D V O R Á K will conduct practices that deepen Pir Zia‘s teachings thus creating a container of shared experiences. Tools are being offered to relate spiritual insights to one‘s own being, one‘s situation in life and daily routine. Z U M U R R U D B U T T A is deeply rooted in the Sufi path of Hazrat Inayat Khan and Ibn ´Arabi. She will begin the days with the participants with the early morning me-ditation. Zumurrud Butta is a teacher in the Suluk-Aka-demy. She works in the field of human rights.

Alev Aliye Kowalzik, Ophiel and Sangita van Leer, Mehmet Ungan and other musicians of many different traditions will accompany the seminar musically.

The Dances of Universal Peace conducted by Rafia Sieglin in cooperation with Sufi Ruhaniat International will en-rich the program.
