• Know titles (Dear Dr. _____)
• Know their pronouns (Mr. Ms. Mrs., he him his, she her, hers)

• Use social media.
• Know your privacy settings and how to use them. Know what’s visible. Know what you can control.
• Know your rights.
• Know what data is being recorded. Use that.
• Don’t disclose passwords. To anyone. Ever.
• Follow people you want to emulate and engage them.
• Participate in conversations.
• Personalize without oversharing. Know what oversharing is.

• Instagram is forever.
• Clear your browser history before presenting.
• Maintain strict social (media) boundaries with students. And colleagues.
• Use block judiciously, but don’t hesitate to use it when necessary.
