Game Notes (does not include yesterday’s game)deMelo Steps Up: Ryan deMelo ’15 may be playing his best hockey of the season right now. The fourth-year netmind-er is 2-0-1 in his last three games, picking up wins against SUNY Potsdam and Salve Regina. In those three contests, deMelo has made 94 saves and has allowed just four goals.

National Rankings: Jarryd ten Vaanholt ’16 has been one of the best players in the country this season and his efforts in 2014-15 are reflected in the national statistical leader-boards. His 1.44 points per game are tied for eighth-most in the nation while his 0.94 assists per game rank ninth.

Power-Play Unit Still Strong: Despite going 1-for-9 on power-play opportunities over the weekend, the Elmira power-play unit is still operating at a very high level, boast-ing the nation’s ninth-highest success rate at 27.1. Elmira is the only ECAC West affiliated institution in the top-10.

Home vs. ECAC West: Since 1999-00, Elmira is 54-33-6 in regular season games against ECAC West opponents.

Looking Ahead: The Soaring Eagles conclude their four-game homestand tonight and hit the road for a pair of ECAC West Conference games next weekend against Naza-reth College. The first of two games is schedueld for Fri-day, January 30th at 7:00 p.m.

Game Notes (does not include yesterday’s game)Rookie Standout: Stephen Gaul ’18 has enjoyed a success-ful rookie season with Manhattanville, leading the Valiants with 12 points on six goals and six assists. His six goals are the most by any ECAC West Conference rookie and his 0.75 points per game makes him the top-scoring rookie in the conference as well.

Road Trip Concludes in Pine Valley: Manhattanville con-cludes their five-game road trip tonight against Elmira after posting a 1-1-1 record in the first three games of the road trip. The five straight road games is the longest stretch of away games for the Valiants this season.

Offensive Woes vs. ECAC West: The Valiants have scored a total of 34 goals this season, however, only eight of those goals have been scored in ECAC West Conference games. Manhattanville’s eight conference goals are the least amount of any ECAC West institution and are eight fewer than the next lowest team, Utica College.

Valiants at the MAC: Although the Valiants have gone 3-5-1 away from home this year, Manhattanville has enjoyed a decent amount of success over the years playing at the Murray Athletic Center. Since the 1999-00 season, Man-hattanville has posted an 11-9-2 record at the MAC and are 6-3-0 since the 2009-10 season.
