5o fi# S300*4*744' the com.bmc.arsys.emaildaemon.SMTPTimeoutPeriod roerty

was introdu!ed in at!h 00.

5his roerty se!ifies the duration in num"er of se!onds to wait "efore !an!eling an SM5

!onne!tion attemt and generating an error. %n !ase of an SM5 timeout' the email engine waits

for this interval and then mar$s the &ueued message as an error.

()*E+SMTPTimeoutPeriodwor$s only when SMTPTimeoutis set to true.

SMTPTimeoutPeriod is not used "y default. %f you want the email engine to use this roerty'

you must add it to EmailDaemon.properties and set its value to any ositive integer (uer

limit deends on the latform). %f you add the roerty "ut do not se!ify a value' it is !onsidered

as half the olling interval that is set for outgoing mail"o#es.

the same (or the most re!ent) at!h level. 5his ste is ne!essary "e!ause the email engine has

deenden!ies on the ,R System server ,% li"raries.

en!ounter ro"lems with outgoing email messages.

,fter a timed out !onne!tion is restored' messages mar$ed as Error (in the SendMessage field) are not sent !onsistently=some messages are sent su!!essfully' while

others are not. 5his seems to "e a Sun> avaMail> issue for whi!h we do not yet

have a wor$around.

5o avoid fa!ing this issue' you might want to refrain from using these roerties until a

solution is made availa"le.

in the 5o' CC' or BCC fields.

BCC fields.

%f the setting is false' the dislay names are removed from the 5o' CC' or BCC

fields.
