A Castle Overlooking A Graffitied Wall After a thought-provoking morning reflecting on one of city’s lightest periods ENW has crossed the River Vltava and strolled the 2km to our 2nd location, which once more actually turns out to be two different spots. The 1st is a wall dedicated to one of the most famous politicians in the world and the 2nd is just 15 mins away that dominates Prague’s skyline - its world famous castle. The Lennon Wall is named after John Lennon the English musician who was murdered in Liverpool in December 1980. Opposite the French Embassy the wall began as a memorial to the former Beatle but then spread to include anti-communist poems when Czechoslovakia was behind the Iron Curtain. The original John Lennon mural has long disappeared under new images but the global ideas of peace and love promoted by Lennon and his artist wife Yoko Ono remain central to the wall. Overlooking the wall is Prague Castle, the largest castle in the world at more than 70,000 square metres. With around 1.8 million visitors per year the castle complex includes 4 churches, 4 discos, 5 grand halls, 4 towers and 11 different types of garden! First built in 870 the castle is now a UNESCO WHS and an all inclusive ticket costs just €13.60! ENW has planned ahead and bought our ticket online back in June so we are ready to buy the long queues!

A Place to Bathe and Drink!

It has been a long summer trip for ENW, we left Hiroshima on August 22nd and won’t get back home until September 18th. So our final location in Prague is an opportunity to relax our weary muscles before the long flight back to Japan. With this in mind we are heading to a rather unusual spa located in the Old Town of Prague. Yet the spa we are heading to on our last morning in Prague does not use water. Nope, ENW will be soaking in beer!

The Beer Spa uses the same ingredients and natural extracts that are used to brew Czech Krušovice® beer. The yeast, hops and malt along with hop oils promises to open our pores and increase our vitality. Additionally, the high doses of vitamin B, and active enzymes will reinvigorate our skin, stimulate our metabolism and ease fatigue and stress!

ENW is ready to try new things - especially if it will help us prepare for our long journey back to Japan via Helsinki. We booked ourselves into the oldest Beer Spa in Prague conveniently titled Original Beer Spa! One hour in the tub costs just 87 Euros and the room also comes with a mini sauna. A further bonus for ENW is the beer spa also comes with a tap in which patrons can use to fill their glasses up with beer for drinking! How many glasses can we drink in an hour…?

Q & A

1 | How much does the beer spa cost? ______________________2 | What is the name of the beer spa? ______________________3 | Which type of beer is used for the spa waters? ______________________4 | How many days will ENW be away from home? ______________________5 | Which city will ENW stopover in on the way home? ______________________
