OBJECTIVE OF ASA

To use art as a medium in creating social awareness, drawing attention to the plight of stray cats and dogs.

finding a home for stray animals, using mural

hunting and Facebook contests

DESCRIPTION

“Love Me Like Your Fortune Cat”An art which calls upon every owner to love their

pets like how they love the fortune cat.

Fortune cats or ‘Maneki-neko’, are believed to bring wealth or luck to businesses

FIVE CONCEPTS SUBJECTIVE PERCEPTION-Fortune cats bring luck and good-Black cat dedicate unlucky and dirty.

CONFLICT

-Conflict: Colour conflict between black and red.-Used to convey different message.

- A common Japanese figurine that had been bring into Malaysia Chinese culture.

INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION

NON-VERBAL COMMUNICATION-An eye contact -Eyeball looking upward shows jealousy

SELECTIVE ATTENTION-The mural is drawing an attention to the black cat’s wish to be as lucky as the fortune cat.

“In A Kopi Tiam Kitchen” A scene of a Chinese coffee shop which is filled

with details of various items in the style of an old Chinese kopitiam.

Studio Selipar is a group of artists who wish to portray the leisure of

life through art.

Mural art by Faiz Yunus, Woh Jing Hao and Kar Lai. They came second in the “Wall Art Competition 2015” category in

Laman Seni Seksyen 2, Petaling Jaya.
