Written statement, short description of the project in English, no more than 250 wordsSite: Badong Country, Hubei Province, ChinaHistory of Twice Overall Relocation:
1. Three Gorges Dam Project 1992- The project caused the rise of the water. Most monuments and towns were flooded,Badong residents were forced to relocate.
2. Landslide Crisis 2009- Loess Plateau Ancient Landslide is the largest landslide prone body at the bank of the YangtzeRiver, making people’s lives and property in danger. In 2009, the state identified the relocation plan to move out all the residents gradually in three years.Nowadays: The site is full of empty buildings & ruins.Problem: What the future landscape could be on this wasteland? Will it be reused or just be wasted? Our Goal:We will build up a new dynamic landscape process. The vegetation and the people separated by the relocation will be resorted in this Landscape process. We will leave enough spaces for plants to grow, and create a new place that full of memories to attract the natives to come back in order to make the site a place of vitality.We aim to promote neighborhood relations and ecological restoration through our efforts, while the forces of human and nature will participate in the new round of landscape process, which is what we expect to see.
