The 2019-20 bushfires devastated the Eurobodalla, burning 80% of our shire. On 23 June 2020, Mayor Liz Innes confirmed that $200,000 of the Disaster Recovery Funding from the Commonwealth Government (to help property owners significantly affected by the bushfires) would be allocated to a project aimed at assisting eligible Eurobodalla residents towards the cost of DA fees to rebuild their homes.
Eligible* property owners who have lodged and paid for DA's on eligible properties are invited to apply for the DA Fee Rebate for reimbursement up to $1000.
The Eurobodalla Disaster Management Committee will manage the DA Fee Rebate applications process. Applications will be assessed upon receipt. Vetting will be undertaken to ensure eligibility criteria is met.
Applications must meet all eligibility criteria below.
Applications open on 1 July 2020 and apply to those eligible property owners who lodge and pay for DA's on eligible properties between 1 January 2020 and 30 December 2021.
As funding is limited, there is no guarantee that all applicants will receive funding.
Eligibility for the Development Application (DA) Fee Rebate (the following criteria applies to all applications):1. Property is within the Eurobodalla Shire.
2. Property is deemed 'eligible' for bushfire rate relief; identified by NSW Government (Service NSW) as being destroyed or significantly damaged by 2019/20 bushfires.
3. You are / were the registered owner of the property at the time of the 2019/20 bushfires.
4. The DA to rebuild (at the bushfire affected property) was lodged in the name of the person/s listed above (point 3).(Note: Rebates are not available to property owners who purchased bushfire affected properties and are subsequently now lodging DA's in their names).
5. The DA for eligible property has been lodged and paid in full (by property owner, insurance company or other).
6. Only one DA Fee Rebate application will be accepted per eligible property (Rebate only applies to Development Application (DA) fees - no other fees are eligible for rebate).
7. DA fee rebates of up to $1,000 are available. Funding is limited so there is no guarantee that all applicants will receive a rebate. If you are staging your rebuild process, you may wish to lodge DA Fee Rebate on the most expensive DA to receive maximum rebate of $1000.
8. If DA fees paid are less than $1000 only the total amount paid up to $1000 will be refunded if successful.
