Evaluation Question 2:How does your product represent particular social groups?

• Defining ‘Representation’:The description or portrayal of someone or something in a particular way.

• Teenagers are a social group however, it can be spit up into even smaller groups. These include ‘The geeks’, ‘Mean girls’, ‘Rebels’, ‘Popular’ ones and so on.

• For example in my own movie ‘Bleeding In Love’ we have a teenager who is portrayed as a psychopath and madly in love with a boy who already has a girlfriend.

• We also have a typical couple of a jock and a popular girl.

The teen social group(s) that you have represented in your film opening.

Going into further detail about the smaller social groups within teenagers, as mentioned before example of these in our movie are:

Psychopath – Crystal (Played by Rachel) is an ordinary girl who acts normal but deep inside it’s all but the contrary as she has moments where she imagines horrible scenes in her head. Her typical way of dressing is normally in the colour black nothing too bright. Typical shirt jeans, trainers, coat and a bag.

The Jock – Harrison is also a student at the college, he’s a popular guy who is going out with a popular girl in the same college. His typical way of dressing is a snapback, jeans, trainers, and a hoodie/sweater.

The Popular Girl – Played by myself, am just a student who’s popular with a boyfriend. The typical way to dress for me was to be quite girly which required wearing pink and ‘tight’ clothes.

Have you represented them in a positive or a negative aspect?

Overall, when it comes to the film I filmed I think that the only negative portray was towards Crystal as a girl who is a psychopath and mentally addicted to her ‘love’.

The couple were represented in a positive way as they were normal students going out with each other who were not causing any trouble.
