Get ready to hit those notes…it’s Pitch Perfect time!
It’s hard to believe that we’re once again at that point of the school year, where we get to announce the musical for the year. The school year is underway, everyone has settled in, fought for their place in auditions and we’re already hard at work with rehearsals. This year, Moree Secondary College is proud
to present its adaptation of “Pitch Perfect: The Musical”.
Our new story follows a teenager called Anna, who feels like she doesn’t fit in, doesn’t like anyone and doesn’t really want to be at school. Before you go asking, “Hey, isn’t that what all teenagers are like?” (and yes, you’re right about that) there’s a twist. Cue our two rival singing groups, the ‘Moree Misses’ and the ‘Ballad Bosses’. The Moree Misses are outdated and uninspired in their song choices, so every year, the Ballad Bosses win the singing competition. Cue Anna’s role. In order to be a bit more of a normal human being, she agrees to be a part of the Moree Misses (yesss, let’s make some friends!)
and with this, she brings some new and fresh ideas to the group.
“Pitch Perfect: The Musical” is headed up by directors Ms Elle Raine and Ms Stevie Drenkhahn, chore-ographer Ms Cassie Turnbull and supported by Ms TJ Lee. The cast is an exciting group with some new faces in the leading roles including Alex Rush (Anna) and Lara McGrady (Fat Amy), as well as some re-turning faces including Bernadette Quirk (Cynthia) and Laura Adcock (Summer). The past couple of re-hearsals have been focusing on setting and practicing the dance numbers, and moving into the follow-
ing weeks, scenes will start being the focus.
Does Anna have what it takes to help the Moree Misses win the singing comp this year? We hope you’ll come and join us, and find out for yourselves! Keep an eye out folks, for when the musical dates
and tickets will be released. It’s not just cool or awesome, it’s perfect…Pitch Perfect!
