SNELGROVE: This sworn interview is being taken in relation to a traffic fatality. At this time
I will administer the oath. This is a sworn, tape-recorded interview taken by a
law enforcement officer pursuant to Section 117.10 of the Florida Statute.

SNELGROVE: And what's your current occupation?
PAREDES: Uh, I'm a vale t parker.
SNELGROVE: Okay. I'm talking with you today in reference to an incident that occurred on,
uh, Friday morning, uh, early on the 12thof February. And I'm gonna ask you
some ques t ions about, uh, that -- early that morning and the night before.
PAREDES: Uh-huh.
SNELGROVE: Okay? Um, what were you do ing that night? Were -- were you employed
here as a valet?
PAREDES: Uh, yes, sir.
SNELGROVE: Okay. And, um, what time d id you get to work?
PAREDES: About 6.
SNELGROVE: About 6:00?
PAREDES: Uh-huh.
SNELGROVE: What time did you leave?
PAREDES: Uh, 2, 2 a.m.
SNELGROVE: Was it busy that night?
PAREDES: Uh,yes. Not as busy as usual, but it was busy.
SNELGROVE: Okay. Were you here by yourself?
PAREDES: At the beginning I was with my co-worker. And after that, he left.
SNELGROVE: Andwhat tim e d id he leave?
PAREDES: Maybeat -- maybeat 9. It's hard to say.
SNELGROVE: Okay. So you were here by yourself from 9 until 2 --

PAREDES: Two in the morning. Yes.
SNELGROVE: Okay. Um, do you know who JohnGoodman is?
PAREDES: Yes, sir.
SNELGROVE: Okay. Uh, you know him by looking at him, or--
PAREDES: Yes, by looking at him, you know.
SNELGROVE: Okay. Um, do you know what kind of car he dr ives?
PAREDES: Uh, I saw the car hewas dr iv ing that night.
SNELGROVE: That night.
PAREDES: The night that he came--
SNELGROVE: What kind of car was it?
PAREDES: Itwas a Bentley conver t ib le.
SNELGROVE: Okay. What color was it?
PAREDES: I couldn't tell, sir. I mean, it was -- it was dark. I know it was dark, but --
SNELGROVE: Dark-coloredcar?
PAREDES: Yeah.
SNELGROVE: Okay.
PAREDES: Conver t ib le.
SNELGROVE: Um,what time did he get here?
PAREDES: I could not tell you exactly.
SNELGROVE: Okay. Around about?
PAREDES: I would say anything between -- I'd say -- kind of make a range of two hours,
becauseI'll tell you when we're busy --

PAREDES: -- uh, I don't check the time. Uh, I'd say between 10 and 12.
SNELGROVE: Okay. We talked to you, uh, out here about, uh --
PAREDES: Tuesday.
SNELGROVE: Tuesday night?
PAREDES: Uh-huh.
SNELGROVE: And, uh, you had mentioned it was somewhere around 11. Is that right, or
would that be --
PAREDES: Yeah. You know, I -- I cannot tell you a specific time. It can be 11 --
SNELGROVE: Okay.
PAREDES: -- it can be 10:30. It can be 11:30.
SNELGROVE: Okay. Do you know about what t ime he left?
PAREDES: It could be 10:15. I'd say between 12 and 1, or som eth in g like that.
SNELGROVE: Okay.
PAREDES: You know, it could be 12:15, 12:30.
SNELGROVE: When we -- when we talked to you -- when we talked to you on Tuesday, you
sa id it was about an hour before you got off.
PAREDES: Yeah. It could be, like, I don't know, 12:45, 1.
SNELGROVE: Okay. 12:45 or 1?
PAREDES: 12:30.
SNELGROVE: Okay. Okay. Um--
PAREDES: I cannot tell you. We don't -- we --
SNELGROVE: D id you -- did you park h is car down in the parking lot? Or where'd you park
his car?

PAREDES: No. We park his car at -- at the front. You know, a specialcar like that, we --
we just keep it up front.
SNELGROVE: Okay. And, uh, did you go over and get the keys from him? Did he throw
you the keys?
PAREDES: Uh, no. He came driving, he pulled right in front. I openedthe door for him.
Uh, you know, we don't give tickets to -- to -- to him, becausewe know him.
So I just kept his car in front.
SNELGROVE: Oh, so you didn't -- you didn't get the keys from him, give him a ticket and all
that? Hejust parked up there and said hi and walked in?
PAREDES: Yes. I just parked the car for him. He went into --
SNELGROVE: You parked the car for him?
PAREDES: Yes.
SNELGROVE: Okay. So he pulled up in -- underneath the overhang up here, like everybody
else. And you --
PAREDES: Yes.
SNELGROVE: -- pulled the car right up front?
PAREDES: Yes. I moved it like -- well, it's not --
SNELGROVE: Okay.
PAREDES: -- not even --
SNELGROVE: Did you give him a ticket?
PAREDES: Uh, no.
SNELGROVE: Okay. So you took his keys and put the keys in the key --
PAREDES: Uh --
SNELGROVE: -- box?
PAREDES: Yes.
SNELGROVE: Okay.

PAREDES: When he left, I just hand h im h is keys.
SNELGROVE: When he left, uh, you walked over to h im, handed h im h is keys. Did you
open the door for him?
PAREDES: When he left, I just saw him coming out of the door, so I went to my locker, I
openedmy door, handedhim his key. S aid, "H av e a good night, sir."
SNELGROVE: Okay.
PAREDES: Hejust --
SNELGROVE: D id he tip you?
PAREDES: Yes.
SNELGROVE: Did he tip you good?
PAREDES: Yes.
SNELGROVE: Okay. Did you see anything unusualabout him?
PAREDES: Uh, no.
SNELGROVE: D id he seemlike hewas intoxicated to you?
PAREDES: No, not really. No.
SNELGROVE: What do you mean not really? No or --
PAREDES: We didn't talk --
SNELGROVE: -- not really?
PAREDES: No. I mean, we didn't talk too much. I just said, "Have a good night, sir."
He tipped me and he just took his key.
SNELGROVE: Okay.
PAREDES: Jumped in his car.
SNELGROVE: Was he by himself?
PAREDES: Yes. By the t ime he left, yeah.

SNELGROVE: What do you mean by the time he left?
PAREDES: When he left, I was by myself working.
SNELGROVE: No. When he left --
PAREDES: Yeah.
SNELGROVE: -- was he in the car by himself? Was he the only one that got in the car?
PAREDES: Oh, yeah. Yes.
SNELGROVE: Okay. So he came out, you gave him his keys. He got in the car, he was theonly one in the car?
PAREDES: Yes.
SNELGROVE: Okay. And, urn, did he just drive off? Or did he sit there for a little while?
PAREDES: Yeah. He just drove off. Yeah.
SNELGROVE: Just drove off?
PAREDES: Uh-huh.
SNELGROVE: Okay. And you're not sure of the time?
PAREDES: No.
SNELGROVE: Okay. Do you know who StaceyShore is?
PAREDES: No.
SNELGROVE: Youdon't know that name?
PAREDES: I don't know who StaceyShore is.
SNELGROVE: How about, uh, Kris Kampsen?
PAREDES: Uh, no.

PAREDES: No.
SNELGROVE: No?
PAREDES: You know, I read some of those names on the Polo Magazine, you know,
because --
SNELGROVE: Okay. But you don't know who they are?
PAREDES: No.
SNELGROVE: Okay.
PAREDES: You know, I like to read about polo, you know, since my work, and I justkinda like it, so --
SNELGROVE: Okay.
PAREDES: -- I read the magazine.
SNELGROVE: Okay. Can you think of anything else?
PAREDES: (No audible response).
SNELGROVE: Okay. Um, I can't think of anything else at this time. Do you have anyproblem with me contacting you later if there's any--
PAREDES: Uh-huh.
